Not likely but Neil probably has him sold on a idea. I wouldn't expect much to be done except a a couple adjustments on the bench. Keep this in mind, just as the Spurs just proved. A good, disciplined team like the Spurs will beat a super team like the Heat
I'm not going to edit your post, but I'd counter with this: A super, disciplined team like the Spurs will beat a super player like Lebron James.
NBADraft.net has Payton going #11 and Harris at #12. draftexpress has Payton going #8 and Harris at #14
@warriorsworld: Ws willing to do Love/Kmart/13 for Lee/Klay/HB if McDermott or Stauskas are available at 13 per @Rusty_SFChron source http://t.co/ODzbKPYIFT
Wow. Talk about rebuilding MIN on the fly. If I'm MIN I do whatever I need to do to get one of those guys. Rubio/KlayKlay/Barnes/Lee/Pek isn't chopped liver. Budinger, Brewer, Dieng off the bench?
Probably not a playoff team either. Its not a bad deal but id try and completely rebuild if im the wolves.
If nothing else, you're going to get a lot of offers if you put Klay and Barnes on the market. I daresay better than the 13 pick.
My problem with Klay is that he is going to get overpaid. Zach Lowe was talking about what executives think Klay will get and they were already talking of 13+. I love Klay on his rookie contract, on a 4/40 contract would be fine but a 4/52 and I'm not excited for that. If they are looking to move the assets they get for Love then thats fine but I would try and pry everything away from chicago instead of this deal with the warriors.
There's major debate in the Bay Area about trading Klay for Love. For me, Klay's impending free agency makes me very pro-trading him. There's been a few reports that he will try to get a max deal. He's probably "worth" about 10 million a year give or take a mil or two. But if he hits the open market I'm sure someone will offer him 13-14 mil a year. If you hold onto Lee and extend Klay, there's no way the team can retain Draymond Green. I'd prefer Love on a max deal plus retaining Green and trying our luck finding a suitable SG/SF replacement for a reasonable price. Klay at 13 mil/year plus Lee and losing Dray looks like shite in comparison.
I love Klay Thompson's game. He is one the few SG I would go after. But the thing with Klay is how much will he improve from this point if he stays on the Warriors? That is tough to say. Because if he improves more that a little it would be hard not to pay him max money. I have no doubt in mind that he could be 22 pts/gm scorer on bad or average team. Tough call but Im also not a big Love fan. Really good but I dont think he mixes well with other stars.
