Might as well give that goal of the year right now.

My favorite team won yesterday. Unfortunately they will not advance.

They easily could have called that one at the end of the first half as Robben was driving towards the goal. Goes both ways.

That being said.... I'll be in Germany on Friday, Amsterdam on Saturday, then back to Germany later Sunday evening. Should be a fun time and a great atmosphere in both countries. Pure coincidence I'll be there during WC, but I'm stoked.

I'm a fan of Germany and the US. They seem to be the only two teams that don't flop and whine like the Clippers.

When I'm in Amsterdam, my bud and I plan to sit in a rowdy bar. My last name is the same as one of the more-famous Netherlands players, so I'm hoping to play it up as his American cousin and get some free drinks.

I spent the 2002 Japan/Korea World Cup in Sydney, Australia. It was awesome except that everyone was against the US team, and I mean everyone. I was bummed about that, but it was pretty satisfying to see the US team reach the quarter finals of that cup. There were so many backpackers from all over the world it was awesome.

Costa Rica? They have an interesting team. They deserved to beat Greece, so I am glad they won in PK's. I don't see them beating the Netherlands, but you never know. What would be cray cray would be Costa Rica advancing and somehow playing the US (I know I am dreaming here), and they have a revenge game for the blizzard in Colorado to reach the WC Final.

Why didn't they bring out the Zamboni?

2 European teams beat two African teams today.

European teams in general having a rough go this World Cup. I think the weather has a lot to do with it, but they came up big today.

Europe is getting spanked this tournament... Took France and Germany all they had to beat teams that are on par or less talented then us.

If Argentina and the US advance tomorrow (like I think will happen) there will only three European teams and two of them would play each other in the QF. Great World Cup!

I was out in the wilderness all weekend, w/o access to TV or internet, so i was getting World Cup withdrawals. Time to cure that in about an hour!

    Go USA!!!
