Kurt Helin @basketballtalk Report: Clippers think they have a genuine chance to land Paul Pierce dlvr.it/6B2dpK
There are a lot of white people that is for sure but if there was an accurate way to measure the true number of immigrants than Portland would be something like 60/40 or 65/35 white. Not as diverse as say Atlanta or Charlotte, but still pretty diverse, however looking at other cities I expected to be super white you seem to be right. P.S. checked Boston only 54% white.
huh? Boston is 54% white (I rounded up) and 28% black. Portland is 76% white and 6% black. the STATE of Massachusetts is 80% white and 6% black, but Oregon is still whiter than that (83 and 6 for Oregon, 80 and 6 for Mass). Salt Lake City is whiter than Portland (well, less black than Portland, approx the same % white). Although even that is skewed, because the Hispanic population in SLC is like 24%, and the "white alone" population (not hispanic or whatever) is lower than Portlands. So, what was I saying?
To be fair Black people answer the census Hispanics especially ones not here legally do not. There is no way Hillsboro is only 15% Hispanic.
White Alone: (First number Porltand metro, second Oregon as a whole) 76.1% (Portland)/83.6% (Oregon as a whole) Black or African American alone, percent, 2010 (a) 6.3%/1.8% American Indian and Alaska Native alone, percent, 2010 (a) 1.0%/1.4% Asian alone, percent, 2010 (a) 7.1%/3.7% Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander alone, percent, 2010 (a) 0.5%/0.3% Two or More Races, percent, 2010 4.7%/3.8% Hispanic or Latino, percent, 2010 (b) 9.4%/11.7% If you can't trust the census, who can you trust?
Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine Still sensing optimism from Nets that they'll be able to re-sign Paul Pierce, with Clippers seen as team that can pose most serious threat
Already pointed out that Blazers are interested and Clippers biggest threat, but other team interested in Pierce that I don't think have been mentioned. Are there any FA the Rockets are not interested in: Chicago, Portland, Dallas, Houston and Memphis, sources said, have all formally entered the Pierce bidding. But Brooklyn, I'm told, really only fears the Clippers in this process, with Pierce's beloved Doc Rivers naturally leading L.A.'s recruiting efforts. ESPN.com
I hate that Doc is now thought of as a top tier coach. Barf. Guess that just goes to show how weak the coaching talent is in the NBA. Kudos to whichever team hired a Euro coach - gotta start looking outside of the good ol' boys club.
Yeah, I don't get it. He won one championship because he had Garnett, Pierce, and Allen at the very end of their prime careers. What has he done since then?
Do you like any players that have never played for Portland? Lol it seems like you shoot down every guy we talk about.
No, Portland is not viewed as a contender, he would be a nice fit in Indiana, would also be a nice fit for the Bulls who need shooters and would be a nice fit for the Griz who need the same. Not sure where he ends up though.
Bless you and may the lord break down the barriers of your icy heart so that you may embrace your fellow man.
I knew I could count on Wook. Peirce as been a pretty good player, Whines much but pretty good. However, I was alway glad he played somewhere else. There are guys you just like to see lose and that's not good on your own favorite team.
