Getting hired isn't the hard part. Staying hired is where they seem to have trouble.

Heat's Chris Bosh actually seeking deal worth $16-18 million per, source says. Hearing 5 years/$90 million, but told deal not done.

I think it just gets to a point where, failing to make a move to improve is seen as worse than handing out a bloated contract. Add that to the diluted talent pool and there you go.

If Pacers waive Scola AND stretch Mahinmi, they could up Lance offer to $50,678,999 over five years @TimDonahue8p9s @ZachLowe_NBA

If the Pacers were dumb enough to do that then we should at least look at Mahinmi

Edit: Wait... stretch as in not waive. My bad

Stretch is waiving him, but stretching out his salary over twice the remaining years plus 1. So if he was owed 10 for 2 years, it would count 2 a year for 5 years

Scola would be a nice pickup.

Scola would be MONEY. He was one of the only good things on that team last year. He kept them in games.

Agreed - always loved his sneaky offense. And on defense, as Rice would say, "he'll whack ya"

He's probably full MLE for a team. He can be a timely scorer, but he's pretty slow up and down the floor and a bit of a liability on defense. He's a solid mid-range shooter though.

HUH? Did I miss something last season? Was Hayward amazing and I totally missed it? A max contract?!?!?!

He is also a vet that would probably come fairly cheap. He may smell like bad cologne but he is the perfect backup big in Stotts offense.

I vaguely recall picking up a waived player involves bidding on them against other teams. Or do they just become a free agent?

16/5/5 on .413. Decent defender though. Probably patted stats.

The rules on waived players are kinda funky. Something like, the teams under the cap get the first crack? Or is it the teams with the worse record? I honestly can't remember anymore.

Nah, I think you're thinking of amnesty.

I believe when picking up a waived player you just get their contract.

padded stats. As in there is padding in that push up bra or padding in his underwear. It's meant to fake something.

Ah yes! Amnesty is what I was falsely recalling.

16 ppt 40% shooting. Either Cleveland really is the worst run team in all of sports, or some one in that organization wants to be friends with Hayward's agent.
