If we were to use these players, what player do you think we could net? I'm looking for a 6th man scorer off the bench. It would give us the ability to either sign and trade (up to 8 mil per).

Paul Pierce is the first name that comes to mind.

    Thoughts?

Pierce will be a Clipper given his relationship with Doc. CJ, Leonard and Wright would give us draft picks maybe or a mid talented vet. I expect a trade soon but I think Freeland is the odd man out. Freeland, Claver and Wright are more likely to be part of a deal given their salaries compared to the rookies.

Problem is nobody wants Freeland, Claver, and Wright. Maybe we could get Perkins for them...

    Ummmm...

Sure. I guess. Anything is possible. And it wouldn't involve you having to suck anyone's dick.

1st i think this signing signifies that the team still is going to work to develop Leonard. Kamans contract is reflective as insurance for Leonard. That said Freeland and Wright alone could net back 9mil, add CJ and we can take back 12mil or so.

Interesting... Claver, freeland, Wright and CJ should probably be used. I honestly think if we want any kind of talent, we need to give away two "potential" players. Leonard and CJ fit that bill.

Freeland, Claver and Wright are players you know what you are gonna get. Cj and Leonard are those players that could develop into something special.

But if they wanted to move on from the Leonard project why sign Kaman for 1 year plus an easy out, if the Leonard switch is flipped? If the signed Hawes that would be a buh bye to Leonard.

I agree. We needed a bigger better backup center. I think signing Kaman makes Joel expendable and gives Leonard another year to develop without having to rely on him for anything. Joel/Claver/Crabbe are expendable and I'd love to trade Wright to get a better SF. One of CJ or Barton might entice someone, too.

I think the one year is more "seeing what he can do" than giving Leonard more time.

I think Olshey is doing a "win now" mode. I expect us to get a little older than younger.

If we keep Leonard, then I would bet Barton and CJ will be the young pieces. We need to give up something and freeland, claver and crabbe ain't gonna give you shit.

Maybe a 3 way trade where we get Mike Dunleavy, Thaddeus Young or Chase Budinger.

I think the problem is these Blazers have very little trade value right now; they are worth less than the chance one of them develops into a solid backup here.

We'd really have to give up a future 1st round pick to bring in a legit rotational player.

First the team is going to see what happens with our guys at summer league.

Also during the season there might be a number of teams who have poor starts then decided to make their vets available in trades for expiring contracts. I'm sure Neil will always be listening to offers but I find it very unlikely any trades are made this offseason.

I agree that a veteran team would have no use of these players, but for a rebuilding team, Cj and Leonard have more value IMO.

Charlotte, Atlanta, Sacramento, Milwaukee, even Detroit are teams I'm thinking of.

If I were a team I would go for that in a second. But that is a lot of young talent to give up. I would think some high salary players would go.

They might get us a second rounder or two for the trio
