Guys, I just want a point guard who doesn't shoot a putrid percentage from the field. This means no Mo or Luke Ridnour at a bare minimum. Also, it would be nice if they can run a team and give confidence to players not stop the ball. I like Sessions for this.

I would be very happy with him or Augustin.

I'm cool with Augustin. He played really well last year.

I'm surprised that he's not getting more attention. He played extremely well for the Bulls.

I'm sure Denny could chime in on this. The teams that are looking at him (Dallas) are looking at him as a BAE guy.

    Hello, Neil?

    This.

If the goal is to win a championship, taking a slight downgrade this season in order to possibly add a star next year should be the plan. You win with stars. Even though they lost two of them, Miami made it to 4 straight title series. The NBA is a star driven league period.

    Here are Augustin
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/augusdj01.html
    Sessions
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/sessira01.html
    Ridnour
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/ridnolu01.html
    Mo
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/willima01.html

If you look at the shooting numbers both Ridnour/Mo shoot pretty much the same from the field as Sessions, Augustin is well behind all three on 2%, but then Ridnour/Mo shoot a LOT better from 3 then Sessions does so if you don't want crappy shooting then Sessions and Augustin should be two guards we ignore.

In our backup PG, I'd like someone who can facilitate and play defense, and who can shoot when he's open. Someone who won't freeze out the other shooters on the court and can feed TRob, Kaman, CJ, Barton, Wright, etc. Would Stotts have the guts to play someone like Barton instead of Mo if Barton is playing D and setting guys up? I'm not opposed to signing Mo if he's BPA, but I fear he's Stotts' crutch.

I'd rather see Barton get the nod, than have Mo come back. See how he develops with a bit of seasoning.
Mo had some ok numbers, but was terribly inefficient - poor shooting and too many turnovers.
Also, I lost all respect for him with that BS he pulled in the playoffs with making up 'beef' with rookies.
We don't need 'leadership' like that.

The made up beef was awesome. half of basketball is mental and he rendered that rookie useless after his amazing game 3.

Nah, smacks of a guy who can't get it done on the court - so he resorts to off court antics.
Got no respect for him now.
Let the game do the talking.

The backup PG needs to be able to handle the ball under pressure . . . that allows them to run the offense and let's Lillard slide down to the SG position at times and not get so worn down. I don't see Barton being able handle the ball under pressure on a regular basis. He sounds committed this summer to improve in that area, but this is the big leagues and I don't think you can learn to be an NBA PG over the summer. We'll see.

Uhhhhh no. What Mo did worked wonderfully. Nothing wrong with mind games. I've got no respect for this post.

CJ has the best handles on the team. If CJ is the bring the ball up in place of Lillard guard and one of Batum or Billy is on the floor with him we'll be fine.

Actually quite a few pt guards made the leap from one summer to the next season. Patty Mills seemed to become a real NBA pt guard over one summer for the Spurs. It happens and if Will pulls it off I won't be surprised at all. CJ might too but my money is on Will being the guy that takes that step first.

I'm talking natural SG's who can make the leap to NBA PGs. I think that is a very tough transition, but there must be some examples out there. Was Mills originally a SG?

I agree with this post, it's the NBA. MJ was a smack talker and countless other stars have used the intimidation trick to get in the opponents head. We all cheered when Mo stood up against Bogut and took one for the team. You don't want a team of CJ McCollums apologizing for fouling the guy he's guarding. It's not the boy scouts

I like what Mo did too. That series was tight as could be and the rookie's confidence was sky high as he was making a real impact on the series. After Mo's antics, he became a non factor.

Lillard said it best, we're guards, doesn't matter who brings the ball up the court. Stotts said the same thing. The game is changing

If I'm the other team and I see CJ or Will in as PG, I would be pressuring the ball 3/4 of the court.

I don't think either has rally been put through the test yet when it comes to being a PG, if they can handle and get the ball up court and get the offense running, that would be huge for the Blazers.

If pressure at 3/4 court is the game plan it's simple, you let Nico bring the ball up. I was impressed with Will's fearlessness at the end of last season. I think he's going to surprise a lot of folks and could be the summer league MVP
