Seems like he's just waiting until Monday so he can monopolize another news cycle. Probably going back to the Knicks. That's going to be anticlimactic, though I guess, better than a signing with the Lakers where he and Kobe would be a disaster.

I hope he comes here. From the very start everyone said it would be a long shot. If he comes and we don't have to gut everything to get him we sit pretty. If not...we build with the flex we neeeded to "put the ball in play."

If we had sat pat the bleating would be Rose Deng Boozer and Noah weren't enough. I have no doubt.

No. They should have paid the LT to keep them, though.

To keep Gordon might have cost us Brewer and CJ. I'd rather have had Gordon.

Asik was 2 years later. For 2 years, he'd have earned $5M. For year 3 at $15M, Houston had no problem dumping him if that's what we needed to do.

Deng needed to be paid this offseason.

    No need for bleating.

SAS said at 10:30 pm cst that Bosh is holding all of this up. Said if Bosh goes to Hst then Melo goes to Miami. SAS has been saying that all along and said it again tonight.

He counterdicted himself! He said LA blew him and his people away with the presentation, then he said and I am parphrasing this that Melo wont leave all of that money in NY to sign with LA. He then in the next sentence said Melo to Miami if Bron comes back. That did not make sense at all! So he leaves the money for Miami, but Not for LA?

He finally mentioned Hst and Chicago. Said Melo has not made his decision. And said Hst is really after Bosh. They want him bad.

If melo goes to Mia, that team has no height at all if they lost Bosh. Our front court would kill them. If they get Gasol, its all over. That would be the big 4 with no bench.

As Carmelo struggles with his decision, waiting game continues. Appears down to Knicks, Lakers and,the Bulls.

He hasn't played with the team for most of 3 seasons. Is this some sort of excuse? Remember, "no excuses!"

Or is it that since he's unable to play, we put out a mediocre product on purpose because it's cheaper?

    You stand by Lu...

and no. The mediocre thing remains pure foil hat folly in this era (early post MJ era conceded).

"The goal is playoffs." -- John Paxson

I stand by incrementally upgrading the roster at any and every position where possible. We seem to do the opposite.

The goal is to not pay the tax and keep the arena full. The Bulls don't need to win the title in order to maximize profit. GarPax get to keep their jobs as long as they don't royally fuck up. With Rose's injuries they have built in no accountability excuses for years. No need to rock the boat.

I mean, the "plan" was to get Melo to come here for far less money than he could make playing for several other teams. "hey, if you decide to play for far less, you get to play with taj gibson!" Its bread and circuses nonsense, imo. Same thing as Paxson and Uncle Jerry flying out to LA several years ago to publicly woo Kobe. No chance to actually sign him, but, hey, we're trying!

IMO, this isn't an organization hell bent on winning the NBA title. They are perfectly happy making the playoffs, keeping payroll low and maximizing return to shareholders.
