    Saying this for years
Bosh to Houston concerns me more than Carmelo to Houston. Houston is better either way, but the potential meltdown with two volume shooters on the perimeter and a prone-to-sulking big man turning into just their rebounder seems like it would have a decent probability to blow up in the Rockets face if they would have gone all in to get Anthony. Bosh fits in really well as the third fiddle with Harden and Howard. He's content to be the third guy, can play interior defense but doesn't clog the middle on the offensive side, nice all-around player with a good temperament. With Harden and Howard, what Bosh would bring in terms of demeanor might be nearly as important as what he brings on the court.

Don't forget in this scenario, they can also still resign Parsons.

Doubt they would. Dallas seems ready to offer Parsons a big deal.

If they get bosh, I think they win a title. Just not in the next couple years.

They will have lost lin, asik, Parsons and maybe Jones.

Beverly, harden, ??, bosh, Howard is good, but who will they have on the bench will determine if they win. They'd only have minimum deals and the room exception to work with

They still have a bench. Not as good as last season, but definitely a better bench than what we had last season.

one of the points of turning parsons into an RFA this season is so they will have enough cap room to bring someone in before they sign him. im 99% sure parsons is on board with the timeline, and isnt going to force moreys hand with a 12:01 offer sheet tonight, but i guess who knows anymore

I mentioned they might trade Jones to sign bosh.

Garcia and Daniels are free agents getting attention from multiple teams

Do they want to resign him for 12 million per year or more on top of 20+Each to bosh, Howard, and harden?

I don't think he'll get more than $12 million, but the expectation was that he'd break $10 million and they set up this RFA situation for precisely this scenario: bringing in another max guy and then re-signing him to that market deal.

Sure, if some team decides to go nuts and offer him $15 million a season, maybe Houston backs away slowly. I don't see that happening, though. $10-12 million is probably his market and probably Houston's expectations.

it depends what they are going to have to give up to philly or whomever tto take lins deal, but im guessing their #1 pick (capella), motiejunas, and a future #1

    that leaves them with

    beverly
    harden
    parsons
    bosh
    dho

    jones
umm caspi? that dude mo started beef with?

thin bench for sure but a great starting unit

I guess that depends on what they want to accomplish. Yes adding a 12 mil per player is gonna be a hit, but why not? I mean if you have an opportunity to get to the next level, you do it easily.

im sure i have no idea about their willingness to go over the tax line and whatnot, but with parsons QO being so low, i appeared to me at least that this was their plan, to use cap space to sign a star, then bring back parsons after. like i said, who knows, but this is the most obvious scenario IMO

All four of those guys would have substantial raises. And Beverly is gonna get paid soon.

I just don't see the financials working out, unless they want to pay a pretty penny of tax money

The problem is they have no point guard. Beverley is many things, but a point guard isn't remotely one of them. Unless the idea is that Harden will be the main facilitator, they're going to have to solve that problem. Harden does have decent passing skills, but his decision-making seemed to regress last year, observationally.

not even sure i like them coming out of the west, just was pointing out that they could very likely keep parsons and jones in a scenario where they sign bosh outright

In a year that Hayward signs a max deal, it would not surprise me in the least if Parsons signs for max money too.

Some people think he is better than batum, and due to inflation on these deals, 12 is the lowest amount I see him starting at

that is indeed the crux of it, if i had to bet though, i would say that their plan thus far has been to acquire high level talent via trades and FA in order to win a championship... to trade or sign 3 MAX level players and then pull the plug on additional salary seems to be handcuffing themselves right as their multi year year plan is coming to fruition. i would say they would be willing to at least sign chandler this year and then deal with tough decisions as they come in the future

I think they have a solid chance against the likes of the Spurs and Thunder if they can also wrangle a competent point guard. Bosh fits perfectly with Howard, as he's converted his game to stretch power forward, and he helps Houston's offense and defense. It's a very strong threesome with some decent players around them. But without a proper facilitator, I could see their offense bogging down.

I also think Dwight could ruin everything by being a whiner about touches.
