@incarceratedbob: **BREAKING NBA NEWS** #TheReturnOfTheKing is now official LeBron James informed #Cavs 10mins ago hes back #IBN https://t.co/eKhcpDBonM
Glad to see that "super team" broken up, and another good team created in the pathetic Eastern conference. Now how can Houston afford Bosh?
David Aldridge said they had enough cap room to offer what they offered to Bosh, with parsons cap hold.
If they have to match first, they cannot sign bosh. They need to sign bosh first, then match the offer.
Not really. Parsons' signing doesn't have a thing to do with the Rockets having cap space for Bosh. Parsons has a very low cap-hold, so it was smart of Morey to extend RFA status to Parsons. It cleared up a bunch of cap space to sign Bosh, and also to bring back a 2nd-round pick. Houston will match the offer for Parsons, whether or not Bosh signs first or last.
Not sure you're right there, NS. If the Rockets have to match and sign Parsons first, I think his actual salary goes on their books and his cap hold goes away.
I don't see how. They dumped Asik, but he was only $8M of cap, and Parsons' is 2x his salary or $1.7M of that back. It seems like they have $7M, maybe, to offer Bosh. If they can give away Lin for nothing, they're at ~$15M. There's no guaranty of that, tho.
well, not exactly. if they match parsons first, they wouldnt have the cap room to sign bosh to a max offer
i think they already have a lin deal lined up is the conjecture, after that all they need to do is waive the non guaranteed guys and maybe find a home for motejeunas and they look to have the room for a 20MM max offer
No what Aldridge was saying is they can have bosh sign, then it doesn't matter about matching parsons offer sheet.
