I don't remember them saying that the all stars who wanted to play with them were free agents this year. (Unlike Bosh and James) Kind of a big difference since the teams they are on may not want them to leave for nothing in return....
I know what the problem is, Olshey and Obama both begin with O. Never put anyone in charge whose last name starts with O.
Ugh . . . I hate Kaman, makes me get into it with everyone on this board, including mags who is about the easiest going guy on this board. Forget Kaman, we are stuck with him. Shooter's point is the players the Blazers have so far picked up this summer (and I'm guessing they re done) is a bit of a disappointment. Especially the way LA and Lillard were taking and this team is coming off their best season in 14 years. I hope the Blazers build on last year, because if they can't attract anyone after last season, they aren't going to attract shit if the Blazers crash and fall this season.
I think our push will be next summer. I think the moves we make this summer will fill our voids. I still think we will be a top 4 western conference contender this season. And btw, we aren't getting into it bro. Just a debate... So who are the free agents next summer?
We already have 2 big name All Stars. We just need to improve from within and play better defense as a team. Yes, we could've gutted our team to somehow go after Melo but that wouldn't have made us a better team. We made it to the 2nd round and have lots of room to grow. Patience. Spurs only hAd one All Star and won the title last year.
Very arguable, IMO. But, in any case, I meant players not already on the Blazers. If you mean that the Blazers don't need Gasol since they will (presumably) have Aldridge, I definitely think they could play together. Not that I think the Blazers are going to get Gasol, but that's a separate matter!
Ohhhh . . . Melo would have improved the team and made the Blazers one of the favorites in the West. But that wasn't going to happen.
