Nico's arms are so long, he needs a telephoto lens to take a selfie.

This ref might be even worse though

So does the worst ref in the WC get the third place game or something? Easily the worst referee performance I've seen in this tournament.

I don't know why people get so bent out of shape over the World Cup.

So what if some people, who don't normally care about soccer, get real into the World Cup?

It's compelling and fun to watch. It's only once every four years, so you can really see the emotions and the energy that fans from other countries put into this event. I have a hard time getting into MLS, but the World Cup is just really fun to watch.

Thank God Germany won! It would only feel better in the USA won.

Oh and thanks to Germany winning we don't have to hear about Messi's brilliance if Argentina had won.

    Agreed
Gotta start some where. Do they expect people to get into soccer by going to little league soccer matches?

    Great tournament.

Giving Messi the golden ball was a little sketch.

It fun to talk shit about soccer. Soccer fans get sooooooo upset and defensive. Talk shit to a NBA, MLB or NFL fan and they just laugh at you. Soccer fans go nuts and throw things like, "it's the most popular sport in the world!" Like that is suppose to mean something.

Anyway, it was a gag tweet from a gag account.

For me the world cup is pretty much on par with the winter olympics. I'll watch some of it but for the most part I don't think about it during the rest of the time.

MLS has improved greatly over the years. You guys are mean. If you want the national team to do better supporting MLS is the best thing you can do. It's the future! It's your patriotic duty!

There are about 100 Americans playing in Europe or abroad right now and Klinsman still took 9 MLS players. Just being "good enough" is not good enough. What the US needs in order to have a WC contender is a soccer culture that produces special players. Having a strong professional league youth system that identifies and develops talented players instead of relying on the pay to play suburban soccer club model is a place to start on that path.

    SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SOCCER TEAM!

sure, but if they are good enough, the money is insanely better overseas, and they would be fools to stay in the mls for a pittance

but i hear what you are saying, and its nice to dream on
