I agree it's a good strategy for an over the cap team. Maybe we can get a 2nd round pick or package clavier, Meyers for a veteran on an expiring deal.
Since we own Mo's non-bird rights, we can sign him up to 120% of his previous salary. That's about $3.2M. If we do a S&T, we can receive back up to 150% of the outgoing salary. That's about $4.8M. Here are the teams that I see that only have one point guard on their roster, that could potentially use Mo: - Chicago - Cleveland - Houston - New Orleans - Orlando The main reason a team would do a S&T is because they're over the cap, and don't have the MLE or BAE available. There are a bunch of Point Guards still available that have comparable skills to Mo - Luke Ridnour, Aaron Brooks, Ramon Session, Jameer Nelson, Rodney Stuckey. Mo's options are pretty limited, and it's looking unlikely the team that will pick him up would need to do a S&T to get him on their roster.
The way I see it, we need a third point guard OR a veteran wing. I was hoping Wright could be that guy, but I have my doubts. Although, we might be fine with Will at the three.
