    That's not what the article said. It said that age of consent laws are bad because they make criminals out of adults who have sex with children.

    I read articles of convictions, oh about one per year. Like a boy age 18 going to jail for having sex with his girlfriend, age 17. Some asshole prosecutors are religious demons.

    How do these asshole prosecutors find out to even prosecute?

    I can't find a single article about such a conviction.

    As for Bachman, she's guilty of about 1 or 2 pinoccios on the truth scale. Not 4 as it's being made out to be.

    A lot of times it comes from parents or school counselors.

    Many states have a 2 or 3 yr defense (if you are within 2 yrs of age, it's not statutory rape)

    I see where you are coming from and this is a big problem in the hispanic community where it is common in the culture for a younger girl under the age of 18 to have a older boyfriend and both families consent to it.

    But I don't think you want a policy that as long as parent don't object it is OK for the child to be participating in something that is unlawful. And regardless of parents desires, the state will prosecute most of the time.
