I don't think Derozen has a chance because of his poor 3pt shooting, but you're right, he's on as a SG, too.

nope, Damian Lillard, Nico Batum and Victor Claver are competing in these games...Blazers are represented in 3 countries in the FIBA games.

I think that Derozan is almost certainly a lock to get cut. Meanwhile these guys are locks to be included:

    Durant
    Anthony Davis
    Stephen Curry
    James Harden
    Derrick Rose
    Paul George

    Probables:
    Irving
Thompson (shooter AND defender, both at a premium)
Token White Dude (probably Parsons or Korver, the former because: tall, the latter because: lights out shooter)

Not sure who the other bigs will be. Cousins has huge talent, but is too much of a wild card. Drummond can't hit his FTs, which might be a no-no. I actually think Millsap has a good chance, just because he's versatile, and I think Shishefski likes that.

I would think both centers are locks. At least one of them for sure (Cousins and Drummond)

No way Drummond makes it unless there is an injury. His FT shooting is 20% below Howards and thats a big deal in fifa.

Dame said he didn't make a shot yesterday. Was having trouble getting used to the new ball or something. But his mind is in the right place-- he's thinking about D and being an outlet to KD and the bigger scorers.

Still having trouble seeing him make this.

Agreed. I would actually take him over Derozen.

This is such a valuable experience for Dame, even if he doesn't make the team. It will really show him the things he needs to work on. In a way too, practicing and scrimmaging with the best point guards in the league is like jamming with other good musicians. He is bound to pick up a few things and get better.

Can you imagine him stewing all the rest of the summer after he got cut? [Cue shots of Lillard beating up cuts of meat hanging in a meat locker and running up and down hillsides with an angry expression on his face.]

Someone needs to reprise the "many faces of Bayless" meme with Lillard's mean mug.

I'd rather have Lillard play back-up SG than Beal, if that's the case. They're the same size, and Lillard can handle the ball, a la Harden, to take pressure off of the PG.

What do you think he's telling Dame?

    That's hilarious.

Rose - hasn't played in two seasons

Irving - not better than Dame (imo)

Curry - the only player on that list that is actually better than Lillard (but not by much in my opinion.)

Not that I want that, but if that were to happen it would definitely put a chip on Lillard's shoulder going into next season.

That's surprising. Shooting is usually his calling card at tryouts.

It also makes me respect Parsons. He's a cocky SOB, but the type of guy you want on your team. I think Batum is a better all-around player, but imagine how good Nico could be if he had Parsons' attitude.

Related to Game 6, it was on in a condensed 1 hour version yesterday on NBATV, and I recorded it. I forgot how good Batum was in the last minute of the game. Had a big rebound, and then hit a ridiculous baseline jumper off of his own dribble to tie the game prior to RoLo tapping the ball right to Parsons accidentally while going out of bounds. RoLo did have a huge tap-in off a Matthews miss late too, though.
