    Paul George suffered a horrific right leg injury during Team USA's scrimmage in Las Vegas on Friday night.

    George ran into the basket stanchion after attempting a blocked shot.

    George was taken to the hospital and the remainder of the game was canceled.

    George was considered a lock to make the United States' roster for the World Cup.

    The Indiana Pacers already lost Lance Stephenson in free agency and will almost certainly be without George for quite some time.

    Even though that looks like a bad break, broken bones are almost never as bad as say, a torn ACL, right? Like.. He won't even be out for a whole season.

    Yeah, and supposedly bones heal back stronger, whereas ligaments (usually, but not always) are more susceptible to re-tears.

    Compound fracture of both the tibia and fibula. Generally they say you can recover 100% from fractures and the bone can even be stronger once its recovered, but this was such a catastrophic and dramatic break that I dunno if the same rules apply.

    I know Kevin Ware never played another game for Louisville and ended up transferring to a lesser school. Anderson Silva is scheduled to fight again in January, about 13 months after his horrendous broken leg. Can't really draw any conclusions at this point, we'll see.

    There is a special brace that can put on where they can stretch the bone very slowly as it grows and heals making him taller. He should have the doctors break his other leg and add a few inches in height.

    Kevin Ware is still at Louisville. He was granted a medical redshirt and is going to try and play this fall as a 6th year senior.

    Also, there is no way that Paul George will be playing next season. He'll need titanium rods and months and months of hard rehab to even be able to walk without a crutch, let alone run and jump.
