Won't pick up baseball for 2 weeks. Matt Daley called up. Have to wonder who takes his spot. Hopefully Cashman watching that waiver wire.
Thank God, Cashman, did not take the Cliff Lee bait.....he'd have signing poison, no different than food poison....!
I haven't heard if the Yanx are calling someone up to replace Phelps, since Tanaka, Pineda are still on the DL....any info-59 on who will replace Phelps on the SP roster...? Damned, what would this make...? approx. our 49th player on the roster all year...? Seems close to Torre's infamous 20+ pitcher year, ntm-other years much like this one, with half the team on the DL at various times.... got to hand it to Gerardi, this has been nothing short of a Manager's nightmare....How anyone can put down Joe at this juncture for what he's been dealt, stuns me....A managerial nightmare, fan's too....oh well...we'll get there if not this year, next....but I'm not saying Uncle til my arm is broken....! be the poor in health...... I cannot believe my effing ears, watching Quick Pitch, with a dick comparing Bo Jackson with Mickey Mantle, saying the only diff was The Mick had an advantage as a switch hitter, these f'ks, need to get a clue. Bo knew alot, but was NO MICK...!
Heard the pregame yesterday on the radio. Pineda sounds close, next up will be a 75 pitch outing this week. After that a 90 pitch outing and that could be in the minors or for the yanks. Tanaka about to start playing toss....
Ron is going to spit his soup up when he reads this but............I've got to agree Rob. I mean what Girardi has done with trying to do patch work with all the injuries to the pitching staff is nothing short of amazing. Still not a fan of his & all the bone headed in game decisions but, I do have to give credit where its due. When it comes to the crippled pitching staff all year long he really hasn't had a whole lot to deal with in playing the hand he was dealt. So for this...............................props to you Joe.
Girardi is to be commended with all the shit Cashman has given him to work with and the injuries led by the king Tex.
