It looks like it may have been a suicide.

A funny guy, but obviously a tortured soul.

He was a cocaine addict and an alcoholic for years. It fucks with your serotonin levels after decades of abuse to the point that some people can never feel happiness without being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. A sad, but cautionary, lesson for people. Sounds like he hung himself, based on what out there.

Williams was found unconscious in his home in unincorporated Tiburon, California, at around 12 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014. The Marin County Coroner Division suspects the death to be suicide by asphyxia, pending investigation.

I think I saw that he had blown his fortune and was in deep money trouble. He tried to make a go of a new sitcom that flopped.

Damn. Funny man. His serious acting was quite good, too.

Really makes me sad. Really hate to see suicide happen, thoughts with his friends and family. Great actor, I was a huge fan of his.

I'll always remember him from Mork and Mindy though.

One of my all time favorites. This is truly sad. Had a co-worker who worked with him on "World's Greatest Dad"... said he was one of the most genuine people you could meet.

Good Will Hunting, One Hour Photo... those showed he could do ANY movie. One of the true great versitale actors of our generation. He will be sorely missed.

Wow rip robin. I've laughed and cried with many of your great work.

Depression is a mutha

Patch Adams still gets me. He seemed so damned authentic. One of the best.

Robin was close friends with Jonathan Winters who dealt with severe depression his entire life.

It was hilarious to see these two together.

I'll pray for him. He was very brave to live with ADD

In all seriousness, I hope his family deals with this as best they can. He was a very funny man, and probably a better dramatic actor.....which is saying something

WTF?! I'm stunned right now.

I remember how surprised I was the first time I heard that he had attended Juilliard. Prior to that, I had thought of him as just some random (really) funny guy. I hadn't realized that he was actually a legitimate actor.

A true talent.

Such a funny guy. Will always love some of his movies and comedy.

Anyone who commits suicide is a coward. Just think of what his family is going through. It's such a selfish act.

I don't have to think, I know. It doesn't make him a coward, but it's not the way to go.

I'm in a try to use the voice type feature. I think some people believe that if you suffer from severe depression suicide isn't a selfless act

He has three children who he left behind. It's cowardly and selfish, IMO. His kids are always going to have to live knowing their dad would rather die than be their dad, and two of them are still in their early 20s.

They probably are going to be angry at first. Later on they'll have an understanding that he was sick in the head.

I was 22 when I found out my father killed himself. So again, I don't have to think, I know.

Pretty closed minded statement there. Really fucking insensitive. I'm ashamed that I messaged sly petitioning for your unbanning.

I'm sorry for your loss. My dad's brother killed himself, too, and left behind two kids. We all deal with things differently, I suppose. I feel that it helped lead to my own dad's death 13 years ago, because he could never understand why his brother killed himself, and why how he could leave behind the kids, who were in their teens. So, he drank a bit too much, and didn't take his blood pressure meds consistently.

I'm sorry that I offended you, but I'm not sorry for my opinion on suicide being a cowardly act.

Bro... So sorry to hear about that...

Wanna know something creepy? I talked to 3 people minutes before they died.

1.) one of the business partners just came off the phone with me, saying how much he's going to enjoy working with our company. Minutes later I get a call that he shot himself in the head.

2.) an old customer of mine just broke up with his girl and said he was gonna do something stupid. I tried talking him out of it but he said it was too late. Minutes later, he went to the park and shot her in front of her kid. Then turned the gun on himself.

3.) another potential customer was talking to me minutes before he boarded his plane. Told me he would call me when he lands. I found out his plane crashed minutes after take off and he died.
