still have no clue what happened in the cup finals, all i know is we got there and as a fan very disappointed with the play... so, with that said, what were we missing in the cup finals, and what has this org done so that this year we win it?
They take game one or two in OT and it's a different series. Thems the brakes. The Kings had players come up big and the Rangers didn't.
Come on Pasta of all the things to get on the rangers for this is not one of them. What they need to do better is convert a breakaway or great chance and score in the finals OT before their opponent next time. I take getting to the finals again and taking my chances we get it right this time.
very! and not for 1 minute should any ranger fan feel we had a chance. no matter what the rangers would have done LA would have topped it. yes LA was that good! i want to know what this org. learned from that series, and what they did to better team?
give me a break, LA beat teams in west to get to cup 10x's better then the rangers were in '14, weren't they down 3 games to anaheim? u think the rangers who got spanked by the ducks were better? again, i ask what did the rangers do in the off season to better the team? First year coach with a new system and a roster suited to Tortoiserella's style but they still go to the Cup. Thanks to a few huge calls by the extra men wearing Kings colors the Kings eke out a couple of close wins. As far as weaknesses, losing Stralman and getting Boyle on defense is a huge upgrade, Anton blows. Losing Bra Richars lack of d and physicality with average offensive output for the top dollars paid and replacing him with MSL is also an upgrade. I think Tanner Glass will quickly grow to be a fan favorite when he's wallpapering opponents to the boards and addressing another weakness of last year's team - physical play.
don't know how you can say stralman was the "weakness", when everyone was saying he was the only brite lite on D in finals, mcd nowhere 2b found! and as far as getting boyle, the man is old, why wouldn't some younger studs not want to join a team that got to finals, that to me is baffling...
You asked a question and I gave a few examples of what I think the Rangers did to improve the team and apparently that's not acceptable. Fair enough Pasta but if you need someone on this board to give you a reason to root for the Rangers because last years Cup run was disappointing f off and buy a Kings jersey already.

Because there's a salary cap, you have to get players you can afford who are available and young studs as you put it aren't just given away.

I could be whining about your spelling prowess instead Pasta. Even going back to the old ESPN board days you seem to carry a 90-95% negativity rate concerning your posts about the Rangers yet you portray yourself as a Rangers fan. Again fair enough it's a message board but as a fan you should know Girardi was playing the Cup with a broken finger which does influence the ability to hold a stick and shoot the puck. If you think Stralman is a beast that's your opinion but his stats say otherwise. My opinion is Boyle is an upgrade and will play no less physical than Anton while providing more offense (upgrade).
