Netflix announced the deal Wednesday, stating that Sandler's films consistently rank among among the most viewed by Netflix members worldwide. No timetable was given for the release of the films, however it was noted that this deal won't include any of Sandler's current film commitments. “People love Adam’s films on Netflix and often watch them again and again. His appeal spans across viewers of all ages -- everybody has a favorite movie, everyone has a favorite line -- not just in the US but all over the world,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos. Sandler chimed in on the deal as well, saying, “When these fine people came to me with an offer to make four movies for them, I immediately said yes for one reason and one reason only….Netflix rhymes with Wet Chicks. Let the streaming begin!!!!” Netflix has tightened its focus on the movie front as of late. Along with the Sandler deal, Netflix recently announced that Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend will be premiering on Netflix and in IMAX theaters simultaneously.
