Last thing T-Rob wants is to have to move again. They told them that they aren't going to decide if they want to extend them until the latest possible date. Now they put meyers in the minutes...Trob will have the minutes by game 10.
with what I've seen from Meyers and Freeman tonight and I realize it's ONE half of Bball, Trob should have no probs beating these guys out at backup PF
Not what I'm saying. I like T Rob but in his career he has been pretty inconsistent. T Rob was the 5th pick back in 2012 and he's been on 3 teams already. I'm just saying I'm EXPECTING a big season from him!
He does make a fair number of goofs to go along with his highlight material. I agree it's time for him to start putting together more consistency and better decision making.
T-Rob is our backup 4, Wright is our stretch-4 (shouldn't be used at SF at all IMO), Leonard is a waste of roster spot - you just can't teach a guy to have a feel for the game or intelligence.
I would use this rotation: Lillard/Blake Mathewss/CJ Nico/Barton LMA/T-Rob/Wright/Claver Lopez/Kaman/Freeland
How many push off offensive fouls I counted last game. Why did anyone even suggest he was the best player on the floor?!?! I was not even close to bein impressed
The team missed 52 shots in this game. Not a great effort. Nico looked like the only guy in game shape
I think we'll be active come the trade deadline mid season. Other than Kaman, I'm not sure we have a 6 man to fill Mo's spot yet
I think this game was mostly an opportunity for Stotts to experiment. Playing the starters the entire 1st quarter than only the bench in the 2nd is not how you play to win games. I think LMA looked very good, especially on defense. I think the 2nd unit I listed (Blake, CJ, Barton, T-Rob, Kaman) could be very good once they develop chemistry. I think DWright looked very good at PF late in the 3rd quarter - I think he can have a much bigger impact in this position, causing match-up problems for the opposition, instead of just being a mediocre 3. I think Barton and CJ should learn how to play together and trust each other, once they do they'll be a very strong swingmen-combo. I also think that Leonard and Crabbe are not NBA players and that it could be wise to even keep two of the non-guaranteed contract players and just let them go.
I actually like what Blake will bring off the bench but his learning curve as a point guard under Stotts is going to take some time to gel. He protects the ball and has great court vision.
Blanky? Learning curve under Stotts? Grizzled old vet Steve "Blanky" Blankerson? I doubt it. He may not (OK, doesn't) look like much, and his stats won't dazzle, but he's going to help our bench players a bunch. He's a coach on the floor. And we need that.
He gives nothing offensively. His offensive game is offensive. I would have much preferred Ramon Sessions.
The guy with no jumper or defense, that would have caused the defense to sag and help clog the lanes preventing CJ, Barton, and TRob from penetrating? Yeah.... I'm good...
Just watch, Blake may not be sexy buy he will distribute the ball and keep the offense flowing. I mean last year with the Lakers he was averaging 10/8...
Agreed. While Blake isn't a great offensive weapon he will run the team way better then Mo did last year, but then again we kind of asked Mo to be a gunner more then run our O when he came into the game.
