He shoots lower because he takes shots further away for the Pacers. In our offense his FG% would go up.
Unless, of course, you think that Meyers Leonard and CJ McCollum may have been better off being, say, John Henson and Giannis Antetokuompo.
I really wanna agree but lines like this is a lot like what we saw last year. Is he closer to that player that got 18 earlier in preseason or is he the guy that's dropping this dish of a line? C.J. McCollum, SG 12 0-4 0-2 0-0 0 1 1 0 0 0 3 4 -4 0
He only shoots 47.5% in the paint, which is also bad for a center. As a contrast, Robin Lopez shoots over 59% and is just as good on the short jump shots.
I would make a trade for Hibbert. Mainly because I think he is a defensive difference maker. Robin is decent but not to level Hibbert is even everything is being played out just right.
Even having a down year Hibbert still shut down the paint: 98 DRtg with a career-high 5.0 DWS. RoLo is one of the best rim defenders and will cost cheaper. I don't see the need for this trade.
CBA is structured around retaining players. I think a lot of people are going to be surprised with how many players we get back. Wes and LA are the only ones we really need to worry about. Every playoff team in the NBA is going to want wes.
I'm not saying Hibbert is a more efficient player but if Hibbert got Lopez's looks his FG% would sky rocket. We have Aldridge who demands the better frontcourt player to guard him and still needs a double team at times, You can't double LA with Hibbert on the floor.
Only thing that might make it worth it is getting some quality depth. But George Hill is spendy for a backup PG. 8 mil a year? We could do the 3 guard rotation thing. Scola would be a nice backup.
Honkicracker- since when does Hibbert rebound the ball well? He is an embarrassingly bad rebounder for his siZe. I prefer Lopez.
