He's an amazing player. And his team, the Pelicans are no joke. If they can get their offensive identity corrected, they will and actually are a handful. They were for the Blazers. I wouldn't want to face them in the playoffs.
GOAT should be saved for longevity guys... not in the 3rd year. also, the difference in the stats dont wow me. he's always been good. that award should go to someone whose had some sort of challenge from the previous season (mostly basketball related) and came back the next with a purpose. AD was bound to improve, the MIP should be for someone that made a legitimatw push towards being good when maybe he wasn't tabbed to be for one reason or another.
I don't think he can win all those awards... But I do think MVP is possible. The pelicans are better than people are giving them credit for. I'm not saying fro run in the playoffs good but they are good, and so far Davis is looking like the best player in the league.
When was the last time someone won reg season MVP for being on a team that was less than the third seed?
He is putting up GOAT numbers. He is WAY ahead of anyone currently in the league in PER. Didn't you guys watch him play against us? He was great. They lost because Jrue Holiday went 0-9 in the 4th quarter when he shouldn't have shot at all.
Season ain't over. If you think he's gonna stay at 36 PER until season's end, then sell me the unicorn you've been riding!
If he maintains a 36 per for 82 games, NOLA will be a top 3 team. So, he will deserve MVP. But... I seriously doubt that's gonna happen.
Kobe won titles and then didn't make playoffs in 2005. Was he suddenly worse? And when he won titles, was he suddenly better again?
