None of this drivel has anything to do with the fact that both were rated 4*s in the final evaluations, which of course represents the best guesses of the sites... stars certainly aren't given or taken away retroactively. These final guesses are proven to be wildly inaccurate every single year... do you really think anyone here isn't aware of that?

No ways, out comes the persecuted victim card again. While yes it's true that Tyner lost a 5th star about the same time he committed to Oregon, that didn't have anything to do with why he was downgraded. Repeated hamstring injuries that caused him to miss most of his Junior season was the reason sited at the time of the downgrade, and that sort of injury drop is common regardless of what school a player commits to. He proved he was healthy his Senior year, and back came his 5th star. Yes Canton was ranked at the very top of 247, but not leaving the Islands to compete in camps makes it pretty difficult to judge him against his peers which is what a rating system is attempting to do. Regardless, he was dropped to mere 4* status well before Oregon became a likely destination so again this victim stuff is just misplaced whining.

btw... Offensive Lineman Shane Lemieux was unrated by rivals and others when he committed to Oregon, but garnered 4*s when they finally came around to it. There are countless other examples like this of UO prospects rising in their ratings at the sites as the process goes along.

More of the poor poor pathetic victim broken record. Sites reshuffle their ratings/rankings multiple times during a cycle just like they have for years. Yes there are some obvious biases among the sites... Rivals is run & operated by Bama grads, Scout by UW Fuskies. But thinking Taj should ascend while missing his entire Senior season to injury just isn't the way things work with their guessing. He was never a 5* so it's beyond a reach to assert that committing to Oregon had anything to do with his rating

You really should start your own recruiting service. You could be the first service that had 6 stars! A player's star rating could be adjusted whenever King Swim Block felt appropriate. With all your insider info and expert opinions, I'm sure you'd have subscribers galore

In the meantime, the final ratings provided by the existing services is what we have as a reference.... warts and all.

It's a public board silly. When discussing Oregon's football recruiting, I happen to strongly prefer facts over BS... I'm hardly alone in that. Regardless of who's dealing the BS here in this public forum, I'm going to continue to set the record straight with established facts/trends & mock the ridiculous. If you can't take the responses that are generated by your bullshit filled posts, you've got options. Cutting down on the BS, going away, or continuing to cry a river

Cowart visited Florida State unofficially last weekend. Rivals has a new article recapping that visit with him still saying he's planning on visiting UO possibly the weekend of Dec 12th.

By my unofficial count they've 11 OVs left... we'll see

So we will host a visit while he's done with the season. Sounds good. Let's wait to NLSD. Also, Isn't Lemieux gonna flip to Boise? They have been doing better as of late(plus it would make room for Ulave)

How much shock would it be for Cowart to come out to Oregon commit and that be that! This kid walks to his own drum. For some reason I kind of expect something that odd from him.

Last that rumor was around, he said himself he was solid, so who knows. Uluave doesnt count for this year's class anyway since he will be going on his mission, so no room this year needed :)

Peat decommits from ucla. Don't know if we have renewed interest because we had distanced ouselves. But with signs showing barlett and houston going elsewhere recently and durant being split possibly not in our favor a spot may have opened up.

If Green and Houston both end up at USC with Iman, on paper that USC D is freaking unbelievable! Lock down secondary with McQuay, Jackson, Smith, Cravens than add Iman.... YIKES! Add Houston to Hutchins and Powell at the Lb spots, and Daniel + Green to join Bigelow on the D line! Youch!

If Sark can't get past 7 wins in conference next year with this crew and the weapons he has on offense I don't know what to tell you!

He will only make 7 wins because the rest of the Pac-12 South are elite. Zona, ASU, and UCLA are there to stay. Plus with competition from the North, opening vs. Alabama in Texas.

Sark may not grab them all. I like our chances with Houston

" But thinking Taj should ascend while missing his entire Senior season to injury just isn't the way things work with their guessing. He was never a 5* so it's beyond a reach to assert that committing to Oregon had anything to do with his rating"

So with that logic Sweat should lose a star but hasn't the same way Tyner and Canton did because both were injured and yet Sweat has missed most of this his senior year with his injury. SO why is he still in the top 10 of 24/7 with little body of work to show? 24/7 demotes for injury but clearly not here.

"You really should start your own recruiting service. You could be the first service that had 6 stars! A player's star rating could be adjusted whenever King Swim Block felt appropriate. With all your insider info and expert opinions, I'm sure you'd have subscribers galore

24/7 just did an article on who should have been 5 stars from the 2014 class and where the "EXPERTS" missed, guess who came in at number 8? So by your own factual expert site it must suck for you not even to go two days later after an attack and to be called out by your own recruiting GOD as wrong yet again! You might also take note at how many true freshman not only made impacts on their teams but stood out year one! I can't wait for Taj to make you eat your words next year just like Royce did this one.

Call me king swim block or whatever makes you feel clever... but for myself, 247 sports and 6****** Rolls Royce all say HAPPY FRESHMAN PAC 12 PLAYER OF THE YEAR MOUTH!!!!

Can't wait for you to chuck another boomerang out there so we can all watch you get knocked out with it!

In other recruiting news Mr. Sweat is coming out here on Saturday for an official....

I can only do my best to follow your train wreck of thoughts here. Canton hasn't sustained any injuries that caused him to miss time that I'm aware of. Again, he didn't compete in camps and (I'd guess) that 247 felt unsure about such an unknown prospect topping their list... or, maybe they didn't feel he was worthy of it based on his Senior year :dunno: Either way, he was dropped to mere 4* status waaaaaay before Oregon became the likely destination so your continued pity party is laughable. TT was rated at the back end of the 5*s and lost a * with his drop. Again, he got it back when he proved himself healthy. In their recent reranking, Sweat has dropped out of the top overall spot from ESPN down to #5 overall while rivals dropped from the 5th overall prospect to #31. I'd guess that the sites don't want to be cruel to such a prominent guy they were hyping as the next Clowney, but a total knee dislocation puts his football future in serious doubt regardless of mid process rankings. When the final rankings come out, I'll hazard a guess that he's outside 5* status. I'm barely aware of what 247 says about anything... when was their last reranking? Regardless, it's the final one that stays on record.

Here's a question for you... would Marcus Mariota have had any different impact at Oregon if he'd have been rated a 5*? Or a 4*? Or a 2*?

 that you still can't understand the site's simple rules and :biglaugh: at you completely misunderstanding what the articles you reference (but are unable to link) are about as if you're finally on to something. I've stated repeatedly I don't have much respect for 247 let alone revere them as GOD, but let me point out the subtle title of the article you completely misrepresent. "Who should have been five-stars in the 2014 class?"

    http://247sports.com/Article/Who-should-have-been-five-stars-in-the-2014-class-33506278

In other words, they're admitting that they were inaccurate in their predictions just as I stated these sorts of lists always are. The writer knows they can't go change the record and once again they were wildly off base. And once again you contort to come up with a whole new way of inserting foot into mouth.

Still waiting on you linking one of these threads where I say anything bad about Royce going into this season. I stated the obvious, that he'd have his work cut out for him with two established studs ahead of him, but always rooted for his success. I know you'll provide zero links not only because of your obvious struggles understanding this difficult technology but also because there are no links of me talking bad about him. In fact I relayed many hopeful links/posts from his HS days as his UO recruiting progressed as (unlike you) I root for all the Ducks to succeed, & certainly not for them to "hopefully go 7-4". When are you going to start that thread crowing about your great prediction prowess? Or beat your chest over repeated claims of Tyner at Tazer? Or Crosby dominating as a true freshman?

Yup. Rivals has relayed that for a week+ via his HS coach who says the trip is locked in. Regardless of whether he ends up a Duck, he's got a long road to recovery ahead of him... I truly hope the best for him as he seems like a great kid from a solid home

Nope! You said Rolls Royce would have a hard time cracking the rotation already in place here. I said hell no, and had given him a nickname before he ever stepped on our campus! He not only cracked the rotation he destroyed it and owned it at a clip no other true freshman has ever done here. You were so WRONG it's not even worth the retort! So please admit to that, or in your words that you give to others say how "full of shit" you were or are? "BUMP YOUR CHEST ON THAT" !

Canton was #1 on 247's list beginning of this year but not competing in camps altered that? Nice reach! He was injured, duck podcasts covered that, I'm sure you don't want to find it though, would make you look like less than a regurgitating expert you love to think you are. Keep slithering snake oil salesman!

BTW- if you don't respect 247 or rivals why do you vomit their info on everyone here when ever convenient to make your weak ass arguments? Hey? Maybe you should create your own shuck and jive site for slick talking non playing football know it all's! Your followers will never be right unless they agree with you! If they pretend to kiss your ass the right way, they'll get repped! Like here!

Keep trying to save yourself MOUTH! You also said most freshman don't make an impact remember, if they ever even crack their starting rotations? That whole revised list on 247 freshman today not only made impacts they were standouts this year! :biglaugh:

As for Marcus his star rating in high school was seriously hindered by his starting years and what state he came from, which is BS! Not a recruiting hot bed in the eyes of the sites YOU PAY for knowledge off of! So with an ironic twist it should tell you something that Canton was rated #1 overall from that same state before injury wouldn't ya think?

It just dawned on me, you remind me so much of that know it all from the Harvard Bar in Good Will Hunting that Damon schooled, you know? How ya like those apples BOY!

    Classic!

take it to PM or a "Bitch Fest" thread. This derailing is obnoxious. reeeeally dont feel up taking time from moving to deal with with drama. This garbage has nothing to do with Recruiting... at all.

Please dont make me lock this thread too. K thx bye.

He's projected at least initially at Drop End/Outside LB, so his position coach would be Eric Chinander. From what I'm reading EC is guiding Josh around on his OV today and the other coaches will be back tomorrow for the 2nd day.
