..."what the fuck am I driving at?"...you're the one who decided to "pick apart" something I said and take the discussion in another direction. ...this thread is about acquiring PITCHING and has nothing to do with the offense. (that's something YOU alone needlessly interjected)...something you've been doing often lately. (insert PEDS reference here) ...search all the posts you want if it makes you happy, but again, I "don't remember" saying "it couldn't get any worse". ...The Yanx offense didn't score many runs last year?...shocker!...gee, thanx for the update. ... A team has to score more runs than its opponent to win?...again, thanx for the update. ...the Yanx will in fact score more runs this year. There, I said it so that you can bookmark it for next year. If you disagree and you believe the offense will be worse, I'm sure we can arrange a wager...and no bags of Chee-tos either...CASH this time. I'll even let you decide who on this board you'd like to hold the money in the meantime. Simple, either take the bet or let it go.
I know I said, I'd rather have Miller than D-Rob. Tho' I like the point you make, and it would be nice to have all 3. Tho' I wonder if D-Rob's head and asking price lowers to his net worth. I don't see D-Rob being a 15 million $$ commodity. Yet, if he can be had at a reasonable price, bring him back.... Altho' unlike Mo', (and for a good reason unlike Mo') D-Rod still makes me nervous on the mound, with the game on the line...
_________________________________ Drob's "problem" is he walks too many batters - he needs to stay ahead in the count or else he tends to leave his less than dominant fastball out over the plate. When he stays ahead in the count and mixes in his curveball he's excellent. He needs to trow his curveball for strikes which sets up his fastball. I guess he already knows this - lol - all pitchers would prefer to stay ahead in the count.
...yeah, I doubt they sign Miller and DRob, but it's possible. And I don't see DRob getting "Papelbon money" but I do see him getting 4 years/$40 Mil or thereabouts. He's still young and still effective and relief pitchers like he and Miller who strike who strike out 1.5 batters per inning are an obvious premium. ...is DRob better suited for closing?...I don't know. But I do know that DRob came in for the 9th inning during 2014 and screwed the pooch less times than Mo did in his final year. (2013) I will also say that DRob seemed to have a tendency to walk more batters in 2014. (3.2 per inning)...which made me a little nervous at the time. But again, both he and Miller also have the ability to strike out a lot of batters which can get them out of self created jams.
Yep, that does sound better the more you speak 59, but then you've always been "the voice of reason"....! I think or hope D-Rob will take 4/40, now that sounds more fair, than 15 Mil. This with Betances closing could be one helluva Bullpen. Something the Bums can envy, poor Donnie BB....the BP troubles they have had this last year. When but 2-3 yrs ago, their BP seemed to be set, then all went to shit....oh well, I guess thats why Yanx Fans say Fk De Bums....still......only sad thing is I don't want to see Donnie BB get fired.....sure he stands room for improvement, yet I think Donnie BB is going to make a lot more head-way this year, with intolerance for those like Puig, and he no longer has the shithead goof off Hanley to worry about playing games with his buddy Puig, 2 kids, who never grew up....!
