Any of you guys have recent experience getting a puppy? Planning on surprising my wife with a corgi puppy in the next couple months. Where did you find the puppy? What should I stay away from etc.
NEVER, EVER, EVER, FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER, GIVE ANYONE A PET AS A GIFT. IT'S AS BAD AN IDEA AS AN ARRANGED MARRIAGE.
I would include her in the process. It's like hand picking a child. She should have a say. Maybe surprise her by driving out to look at puppies. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm just looking for info on finding the right breeder, most affordable etc. We have already talked out which breed we want, a corgi, so next step for me is to line up a breeder, then surprise her by driving out to see the pups
This. Find a breeder and maybe go out there to check the puppies out on your own once. But then surprise your wife by bringing her there to pick a puppy if you get a choice.
Really? Corgis are great dogs. Great temperament. Intelligent. Don't have to walk them all over the place because they are giant. No cleaning up giant turds. What more do you want?
Baby steps. My wife already has a Chihuahua. A corgi is a million times more manlier than a chihuahua. She grew up with dachshunds and wanted one of those. A corgi was the compromise because they are the manlier version of short legs long torso
The mutts I've had growing up always have health issues. Had a corgi and a golden retriever otherwise, and they were amazing dogs
Yes, definitely get a mutt, unless you are a sheep herder or something If not, just make sure your breeder has a good track record with the long list of corgi genetic ailments
