I don't believe that a player can't keep improving. Aldridge's rebounds increased when most of you guys said he will only be a 8-9 rebound player.

Many said Matthews is just a spot shooter that can't post up. He's added that game to his arsenal.

Agree. There is a difference between these guys. Batum has a very different personality from Aldridge or Matthews. Which just adds to my beliefs that he is what he is. Unless something changes inside of him to have the work ethic of a guy like Matthews, he will continually disappoint.

Will be a laugh in 5 years to read the threads people have on him.

I'm not saying he will improve. I'm just debating that age and years in the league isn't a reason "why" someone can't improve.

I do agree that we get what we see with Batum, just explaining that players can and do improve, even being in the league for a long time

I'll tell you what frustrated the hell out of me with Batum. I don't want him playing for France for free. It wears on his body and it effects the quality of his play for the team that actually pays him.

    This.

This is the same exact point I'm making. He and the french are not looking at it like this. But it's a conflict of interest. Portland is paying him money they feel he is worth to help them reach their organizational goals. He is not giving them his best and I don't if it's by choice or if it's due what he is putting into french basketball. I feel it's the latter.

If the Blazers come up just shy of winning it all and Nic is still playing like he is now. You can point the finger at this very matter. It's a conflict of interest.

Make a choice Nic. What allows you to go buy those great big gifts for Mom and Dad?

Part of me clings to the notion that OneLifeToLive is actually Neil Olshey, because that exchange was GOLD.

Every year I think Batum would benefit from taking a summer off from the national team. This summer he played banged up but had to try to carry his team for the most part. Now more than ever it just looks like he's burned out, banged up, and out of gas.

Nico, I'm begging you, TAKE A FREAKING SUMMER OFF!!

If by "switch" you mean "trade." Then yes.

At least one incredibly handsome poster was suggesting a month ago that perhaps Crabbe should be starting and Batum anchoring the second unit.

I didn't even see Batum guarding Kyle Anderson very much in that game.

Batum #27 for SF's in RPM.

The best SF after KD in the West, Nic? I think not.
