The gap is too wide at this point. Crazy that he's that far behind Kobe.

Question: if Dame doesn't make the all star starters, will the coaches vote him in?

The west has plenty of guards: Westbrook, Harden, CP3, Thomas, to name a few.

It makes it tougher if Kobe is fan voted in. He is a lock if Kobe is left off the team.

So if Kobe is injured, does the next voted player get in or do the coaches pick that starter?

Commish picks the replacement from players not yet on the team and Coach picks who starts. This is probably Kobe's last game. I don't see him turning it down. He is only exhausted not hurt.

I don't think so, but Golden State has the best record and the new NBA darlings

Lillard is becoming one of the chosen ones. He's in the State Farm commercial. They ain't leaving him off. Hell it looks like maybe they're getting ready to phase out Chris Paul.

Klay Thompson is in front of Lillard in fan voting. Not that it means much.

His father isn't that famous. I bet there's ton of newer nba fans who don't even know who his dad is.

Which goes right hand in hand with the need to remove the fan vote. Damn uneducated fans!

The All NBA Team is for the game and the players. It is where the best players are awarded for being the best players.

The all star game is "for" the fans. Sadly, it is a popularity contest, not an ability or performance contest.

Even in Hollywood, movies, TV, magazine covers, being a "star" is less about talent and more about marketing. (see Julia Roberts, Paris Hilton, Kardasians, etc.)

They will not end the fan vote.
