A few items to note that are soon to be achieved or have recently occurred. 1. Wes is now only 19 3 pointers (about four games away) from tying Terry Porter for the most in Blazer history (773). 2. Damian just passed Cliff Robinson for #5 on the 3 pointer list (Damian 494, Cliffy 492). 3. LaMarcus recently passed Jerome Kersey for #3 on the all-time free-throws made list (LaMarcus 2075, Jerome 2071). Next above LaMarcus is Terry Porter at 2555. 4. LaMarcus is 55 offensive rebounds away from tying Buck Williams for #3 on the all-time offensive rebound list. 5. LaMarcus is 60 total rebounds away from tying Jerome Kersey for 2nd on the all-time total rebound list. 6. Damian just passed LaMarcus for #19 on the all-time assist list (trails #18 Nic Batum by 36 assists). 7. LaMarcus recently passed Joel Pryzbilla for #4 on the all-time blocks list. He trails Rasheed by 66 for #3. 8. Damian has passed Bill Walton, Travis Outlaw and Kenny Carr so far this year on the all-time scoring list to come in at #29. Next on his radar is Bonzi Wells (132 points away). Gramps...
FTFY. Also, he's 322 from passing Clyde to be the all-time franchise leader. At his current rate, He'll hit that on March 13 against Detroit.
Wow great stats. LaMarcus is 10 defensive rebounds away from being #1 (Mychal Thompson 3389) LaMarcus is #10 all time in Blazer turnovers with 974. Clyde is #1 at 2409. That is amazing efficiency for the amount of points LaMarcus scores. I think its a vastly overlooked aspect of his game when fans are analyzing stats and criticizing LaMarcus less than impressive shooting percentages. A turnover is more costly than a missed shot since you sometimes get offensive rebounds. If you subtract one or two FG attempts from LaMarcus a game and move them to turnovers his percentages would be sky high which is effectively what he gives the team.
Wes has taken 96 less shots than Damon but made 37 more three pointers. That along with not being a ball stopper and great defense is impressive. Looking over Blazer three pointers made; by next season I think we could see our starters being #1, #2, #3! 1. Terry Porter 773 2. Wesley Matthews 754 3. Damon Stoudamire 717 4. Nicolas Batum 683 5. Damian Lillard 494
9. LaMarcus Aldridge, Will Barton, Nicolas Batum, Steve Blake, Victor Claver, Allen Crabbe, Joel Freeland, Chris Kaman, Meyers Leonard, Damian Lillard, Robin Lopez, Wesley Matthews, C.J. McCollum, Thomas Robinson, and Dorell Wright are 1 championship away from tying Corky Calhoun, Johnny Davis, Herm Gilliam, Bob Gross, Lionel Hollins, Robin Jones, Maurice Lucas, Clyde Mayes, Lloyd Neal, Larry Steele, Dave Twardzik, Wally Walker, and Bill Walton for #1 on the all time franchise championship leaderboard
I'm surprised nobody mentioned the upcoming milestone being the second team to win a championship coming up. Now that's a record I want in the books followed by first to repeat as champions
