Failed NCAA drug test. Positive for pot! If true kick him off the team for being so freaking selfish! This is a major hit! We're already down Allen! This isn't ASU or CAL, this is the national championship! He didn't travel with the team so an appeal wont be timely. Even the dumbest kid making a college mistake doesn't throw away a national championship for weed. These don't come around everyday!
Weeds not legal till the summer and even if it was it's not by the NCAA, this selfish kid could have waited a week and not put us in such a mess at the wide receiver position. Under the NCAA he "COULD" be suspended a year for this. Same as PED's. Here's Carrington's new resume hence forth. I was the go to receiver scoring two TD's in Rose Bowl, playing with the greatest QB of my generation, and I threw it all away for some pot a week before the biggest game of my life on the largest college platform. I got suspended, publically shamed, and missed the national championship! YIKES! Now, if I was Addison who has chemistry with Marcus and "IF" I could play, I'd suit up even as a decoy. National Championships don't get handed to you every day and Oregon may not get back to one during his college experience. I'd think about it!
you know, someone should say that he was listening to grunge while eating a doughnut in the rain so you can hit every damn Northwest stereotype ever.
Hopefully enough. But who knows. I read that between Carrington, Phaoroh Brown, and Allen being out that's 103 catches and 1800 yards missing. Carrington was coming on, but still wasn't a starter. I have a feeling that Stanford, Lowe, and Marshall are up to task.
I put this at about a 1% chance but Bralon Addison has been cleared already and has been helping on the scout team. Would they pull a REdshirt if struggling and have a chance at a championship? Probably not. But who knows.
I'm curios how many OSU players were "randomly" drug tested by the NCAA prior to this game after their championship game? I for one think Meyer is a great coach but an even greater Shit WEASEL!!! A random call seems not out of the question by coach or booster with no answer for the chemistry of players like Mariota to Carrington for the score! I'd love to see the NCAA produce their random testing results for both teams now!
Our wins over Michigan state. Utah. UCLA. And stanford we didn't have Carrington. I am a nervous nilly but I was nervous in the Rose bowl too. Marshal, stanford, and Baylis gonna need to step it up
Here's a thought...assume (like in the military) that you can be tested at anytime (especially in season), and that you KNOW you're going to be tested at certain times (for us, after 3-day weekends or vacation time---for them, before a championship game)
There is not doubt that Carrington just screwed himself royally on a national platform. I'd say he's destroyed all accountability with his teammates too, along with Forde. I'm not saying people don't smoke weed or have the right especially in Oregon come this summer, but damn!!!! Use a shred of common sense kid! This isn't baseball season waiting for spring break to begin. This is the national championship and you're the go to receiver!!! A high school kid could understand this concept. I don't care about the pot, I care he let his TEAM down for a high he could have had a week later!
Now the question is how do we make up for Allen and Carrington off the field? Chance Allen and double shots of the Tazr spot with Marshall and Nelson? Use more TE's and set Stanford and Lowe up for the long ball? Perhaps throw in some J Loyd for a player OSU hasn't seen to much of?
Quack...you do realize almost the entire team would test positive, right? The U of O is one of the best schools in protecting it's players from positive tests, and this time it really couldn't be beat. Carrington was coming on but like it's been all season, next man up.
exactly. Sucks for Carrington, but there are plenty of bullets left in the gun. Marshall, Stanford, Lowe, Nelson of course will get a lot of action (and thats a solid 4some) but also Jonathan Loyd, Chance Allen & BJ Kelley... hell, I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if they pulled the Redshirt off of Jalen Brown. All hands on deck! It's the National Championship game STOMP
