So that's what defense boils down to? I will say with the pace we play that is indeed impressive, but it's not that cut and dry.
Here are the key defensive stats... http://www.teamrankings.com/nba/team-stat/scoring-defense 1st NBA Team Opponent Points per Game 2nd NBA Team Opponent Average Scoring Margin 3rd NBA Team Defensive Efficiency 2nd NBA Team Opponent Shooting % 2nd NBA Team Opponent Effective Field Goal % 1st NBA Team Opponent Three Point % 3rd NBA Team Opponent Two Point % 2nd NBA Team Opponent True Shooting % 1st NBA Team Opponent Non-blocked 2 Pt %
True, which is why I posted all the major defensive ranks, which all are top 3. I'd say we are arguably the best defensive team in the league right now. That's insane bro!
I agree. Golden State is a bad ass team. I really, really, really hope that we meet in the WCF! That would probably be the most exciting 7 game series in a long while
How can a series be more exciting than last years series vs houston though. Buzzer beaters in 7 games instead of what, 2/6?
That was pretty exciting too, but I think the stakes are higher. The Splash Bros vs. The RainBroz. Aldridge vs. Lee, Batum (jack of all trades) vs Iggy (Jack of All trades) and Lopez vs. The Asshole Aussie. We are pretty much ditto copies of each other. It would be fun to watch
Honestly, I think we'd sweep GS or maybe win in 5 games. Lillard/Wes can at least play Curry/Klay even but they have NO answer for Aldridge. He'll have 40+ point games against them just like he did vs Houston. Green can't stop him, Speights can't stop him, and Bogut is too slow. Yes, we lost to the Warriors earlier this season but Nic called a timeout and the refs didn't blow their whistle. They blow the whistle and we win the game. If that happened in the playoffs, then we lose that one game and win the series in 5.
It's a damn shame that we don't play GSW again until March 24th. But it is in Portland and if both teams are still playing well it will probably be pretty hyped.
But they really don't have the best D. If anything, Blazers and Golden State are equal defensive teams, with the Blazers having the slight edge.
