Chris Haynes woulda been played by agents like a fiddle. Much rather have nothing than meaningless articles filled with typos.
The worst would be finding out he got traded elsewhere and for a package we could have matched or exceeded. A 1st round pick means nothing to the blazers.
We COULD match or exceed ANY package. That doesn't mean we would or should. I trust Olshey completely. If there is no deal (and I think there will be no deal personally) then he has more than deserved the benefit of the doubt. Especially since Chandler is very inefficient.
What the heck has Wilson Chandler done that makes you think that acquiring him is an essential move for the Blazers?
It is just the newest flavor. I don't believe he wants Chandler specifically as much as he wants "someone" now.
You trust olshey completely? If you made a list of all his moves/targets it wouldn't be something that would give me 100% trust in the guy.
No I've wanted chandler for the past three years. I don't want to make a move just for the sake of making a move. I just feel like Chandler would solidify a weakness. I like jermaine oneal too but that'd be more of an insurance move
The trust lies with record and the internal player happiness. So yeah, I trust him completely. It's not the players you acquire, it's how you can blend the right talent to work together as one unit. Go ask San Antonio why they didn't go after top free agents during their 5 title run.
No they didn't but they still went out and acquired role players like belinelli, etc. Chandler is in that same category of role players.
And our record is deceiving. Over 20 of those wins are against sub .500 teams. I hope olshey is smart enough to realize our record isn't really indicative of where we actually are.
I really hope that the Warrior's GM realizes that 19 of their wins are against sub .500 teams and that their record isn't really indicative of where they actually are. Or, wait, maybe good teams are supposed to beat bad teams and Western Conference teams are scheduled to play the generally crappy Eastern Conference teams primarily in the first few months of the schedule.
They didn't acquire them midseason. They got them in the offseason so they had time to gel. Your obsession with making trades is getting over the top. You're reaching BGD levels here.
Literally the only trade I've pushed for has been Chandler. I even mentioned how bad of a fit tony wroten would be in another thread.
I basically agree with this sentiment. If the Blazers trade for Chandler, I'll presume the Blazers staff is pretty sure he will contribute more than the players who are going out. If they don't, I'll presume they thought otherwise. And I'll support their decision either way. It's not going to break the Blazers if someone "outbids" them for his services.
