Apparently the reason Claver can't see court time is because, when given the opportunity, he doesn't hit shots.
So what's Batum secret to staying on the court? Does he have incriminating photo's of Terry or something?
Claver is an intelligent player, and if given a string of games I'm sure his form would come round. Let's face it he couldn't play any worse than Nic is at the moment.
By the Way Stotts - there's this guy - Crabbes' his name- he's supposed to be an ok shooter . . .

FFS Terry - Less Nic, More Crabbe/Claver!

Interesting info, that first Adidas commercial by Dame was actually flimed at Batum's house. Pretty cool how close these team is, but Batum is def the weakest link right now.

I didn't watch the SA game, but I am no less disappointed at hearing how he played. Very disappointed.

I also wasn't aware that he was going through a divorce. Hell, I didn't even know he was married.

I am thinking deeper beyond his probable injuries on this. Nic loves France with a passion (I can't imagine he'd play for them in the Summer if he didn't). I think that there's a possibility that the terrorist attacks there have left him a bit psychologically off as of late.

Let's also remember that last year, he played most of the season with a broken finger (just remembering him straitening his finger out after each shot made me cringe). And it's possible, after that fall in December, that there very well could be deep tissue damage to his wrist and back. Or nerve/ligament damage on his wrist at the very least; something not picked up on an X-ray.

A worse possible scenario may be that he's turned to drinking. I consider myself to be pretty good at spotting folks who have drinking problems (my whole family are sobered alcoholics), and I've been right before when spotting them. He just has "that look" about him; and unless you've seen/known alcoholics/drug addicts, it's hard to describe.

It could also be that he's sick with disease, and doesn't want anyone knowing about it; thus we haven't heard any rumors about it. This would also be a worse-case scenario.

However, all that being said, he likely just needs a few weeks vacation. Maybe some of his mother's home cooking is in order.

It might be Nic saying he would rather play through this. Some people need to keep going to get right. But i do see your point here. The coach is the guy making the decisions.

gotta believe Nics consistently awful play will cause Neil to more seriously look for a backup/replacement, Wilson Chandler pressure (or others) is increasing IMO

It most certainly could. The thing is we have a whole other year on his contract. Moving him with an expiring next year would be the easiest time. Problem with that is Batum might have his issues taken care of and then start playing for a contract next year. He might even take a year off in the summer?

I always thought Nic was terribly over rated and terribly over paid (after signing his last contract anyway). Almost every aspect of his game is average, and he's prone to committing silly turnovers. But now his shooting has become very poor. If he were a bench player, making 2 mil a year, do you really think he'd even have a spot in the rotation now?

I always thought he would continue to get better like in years past. He might have reached his ceiling? I don't know but if he holds his numbers from last year with an occasional great game like he used to do he is worth having. Just is not happening this year.

Maybe we should lock this thread, it could be part of the problem.

As I said, at this point, your beef should be with Stotts.

For heavens sakes. Someone fly his mom into town and give her permanent place to stay with a salary.

The only time he has been decent this year is when she was visiting.

Could be a sign that his problem is more of a spiritual one and that someone may not have been too far off the other day that his divorce could be taking it's toll on him.

Ya his good games are few and far between but only fair to bump this in the good as well as the (many) bad. And who knows, maybe this is the start of something?

27/10/5 (season high in points by far) but maybe even more importantly he also looked more active in general. And yes I know someone is going to bring up the last free throw. Wouldn't have been in the game period though at the end without him.
