...I always got the impression that though Jeter (he always said the right things) never said it,...he couldn't stand ARod.

I kinda felt that too. If he wasn't his teammate I don't think Jeter would have had anything to do with him.

Torre even touched in this subject, Jeter holding out on A-Roid, back prior to 03. There was animosity b/t the 2, I believe from the start, yet 03 put any possibility over the edge, Fini~ with A-Fraud.....who could blame Mr. RE2PECT....no one, not even Bosox fans.

As long as you two remember not to ever go to bed mad at each other you'll be okay.

Again I think it was just a teammate thing. My guess is nobody was going out to dinner with him.

I agree as well.... That being said, I think the only Yankee player I recall who was regularly jovial & friendly was Cano... Everyone else did lip service & played the roll of a good soldier...

    Charles Finley, O'Malley, Veeck, Schott....?...
Sorry Matt, I don't see a QUOTE comparable with Hank's personally disparaging and belittling of a rival team and fan base........ummm.....I'll try and make it easier on you to avoid any more five minutes of fog.....

How about in the era of color TV....GIVE ME A COMPARABLE QUOTE to Hank's from some other MLB owner......please leave out Marie Antoinette.
    lmao!

    Ban Johnson.....John McGraw....
Try again.....no, never mind...stick with the deadball world.

    Hey, you
Hey you change the rules as you go along? You never mentioned the era of color TV prior.

Yet, Finley, O'Malley, Schatt, Veeck all lived and owned their teams during the early era of COLOR TV's......

We got the middle class Color TV's in most houses in the mid 60s, here's a link to edumacate you....!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_television

C'mon now, you also never asked me for quotes, yet I doubt you can recall the numerous wars with Finley and the rest of the league, Veeck too, Schatt, and O'Malley, not to mention the Giants owner.....there's a ton of lip and hatred amongst these Owners, you simply asked me to name Owners who did as much.

Actually all these listed less Schatt, did more for MLB, and had no problem warring with other owners AND MLB at the same time. Steiny Kidz, was but a one time little rant, goes un-noticed, compared to these Owners, less Schatt, were always making headlines. Now go lay down with a glass of warm milk.

Keep in mind, you said "I could chew on your leg once in a awhile", and you may do the same, just don't slobber on the Rocky Carrol Cowboy Boots......:cowboy::emotions::cheers:

    :

Matt, when I was responding (post 11) to another post which mentioned Hank, I said about him:
"I did like his little Red Sox tirade". Then I gave it - here it is,

"Red Sox Nation?" What a bunch of [expletive] that is," he said in an interview with The New York Times' Play magazine. "That was a creation of the Red Sox and ESPN, which is filled with Red Sox fans.

"Go anywhere in America and you won't see Red Sox hats and jackets, you'll see Yankee hats and jackets. This is a Yankee country. We're going to put the Yankees back on top and restore the universe to order."

    You then responded by saying:
What did you expect Him to say. Any Poster here would of said as much, on all fronts.

So, you can't provide any other public statements -quotes from some other mlb owner ....yes I'm sure there have been and are owners and teams who don't like each other..... And I'm well aware of when color TV appeared in households...... You needed to once again reach back to an era when it was normal to say things such as they refuse to play with black players......

......yep, "well said Matt", you really showed how Hank's remarks are not rare or unique in today's world.
You were the one who volunteered an opinion implying his comments weren't rare or unusual.....but you weren't thinking in terms of an OWNER or even a "part" owner.
You goofed. It's okay....we all do on occasion.
    .….lmao.
And yet you have not come up with a similar quote.....from an OWNER.

Looks like a case of you needing words (quotes) more than actions. lol..

    "Well said Matt". Lmao

    All in fun.
I never said Hank's words were earth shattering, I just found them kinda refreshing.
