ive lost 50lbs so far, half way to 100. Low calorie diet and tons of exercise. This coming summer I'll be looking good and more important, feeling great.

Way to go! Really fantastic. I lost 44 lbs a few years ago. It takes a lot of concentration and commitment. Needed to lose 20 again and am back on the food wagon now. 17 to go!

    Carbs are the devil.

Awesome! Well use this thread to keep on track. I actually want to lose a total of 130 lbs, but that seems like too big of a goal. So I broke down my goals several ways, first major goal was to 50, then 75, then my big goal of 100, followed by the dream goal of 130.

It's paying off, I got asked out on a date last week. Been many years since a girl has asked me.

I'm also starting to plan my first ever scuba diving trip for next December in the Philippines. Now I have to start taking dive lessons.

Oh, and yes, carbs are the devil. I've just been eating very high protein, very low sugar and low carb, while keeping my calorie below 1000.

Many props, Further. Soon you'll be stealing babes from SPD.

Meh, who am I kidding...People's Ten Sexiest Men combined couldn't steal someone away from SPD. But congratulations nonetheless!

Going to dive with Whale Sharks? I totally wanna do that. I've done Boracay and Bohol too, I might go to Boracay in October. Mad dope, better diving (or so I heard, I only did snorkeling) in Bohol at least when I went)

    Keep it up, further.

    1000 calories seems really severe.

I'm still doing the keto diet. And loving it.

    How long did this take?

What are you doing at the gym? Cardio or weights?

My problem is I'm lazy, I like to eat well and drink booze.

I cant recall the names, but there is one area, Boracay sound right with great macro fauna, then another area where muck diving is exceptional, it looks much more barron but there are far more little specialized creatures, perfect if you plan on doing underwater photography, which is my fathers hobby. I'm planning the trip to go with him while he still can (71 years old).

It was really hard for the first few weeks, but I'm great at cooking very filling low calorie foods. Eventually the stomach shrinks and I'm never even really hungry anymore. Often I end up closer to 700. Keto worked great for me in the past, but I wanted a diet that would translate easier to long term losses. Every time I lost weight on keto/Atkins I put it back on and more when I stopped. If it's working, keep it up, it's a great way to lose.

Biggest problem is I gave up all alcohol till I make my second goal of 75lbs. After that I can have drink max till I'm happy I lost enough. I wrote out all sorts of rules and guidelines so I couldn't fudge things as time went on.

I started Halloween so it's been pretty quick for 50lbs. I'm actually losing more now than I did early on because I'm exercising a couple hours a day (90% cardio) and tend to be eating less and less as I get excited about the results. The first month I cheated a few times here and there. In the past month I don't think I've cheated once.

Wow! I applaud the effort. Been trying to knock off a few myself, I kind a think 245 is a bit much for a old guy. I am hoping for ball playing weight of 215, and that has been, errr, way back.

Thanks. Well I wish you luck, no doubt you have the gumption to succeed if you make that decision. There is something fun about tackling this issue head on.

    Good job!

But, 1,000 calories? That milestone is broken at breakfast usually for me.

Basically I just cut out Breakfast or I should say changed it to one glass of green vegetables and a bit of fruit ground up into a smoothy. My Wife calls it a glass of mean green. Pretty disgusting to start but I got use to it. Salt it a tad and down it goes then off to work. Down about 20 but it is slowing down.

It was by me too for years and years. Eventually I'll be able to enjoy some food again, but never like I used to.

I don't get why people treat keto like a fad diet. The idea is to never get off the diet. You increase your macros gradually until you maintain your target weight.

I lost 100 lbs over about 15 months. Never dipped below 2300 calories to do it, 1000 is very extreme, if not dangerous in the grand scheme of things. Just be careful, especially if you are exercising, it means you are probably netting negative calories, and that can have adverse effects of your body (you are basically living on nothing but the fat and muscle already on your body). It will also be very hard to maintain when you are at your goal weight.

Not trying to preach, I know how hard it is and the work it takes. Just trying to give advice from a former fatty who has been there. Congrats on the first 50, and here is to 50 more, crazy how much better you feel when you get that 100 lbs off!

I'm actually looking to go down another 25 after 4 months of "relaxing" form my calorie deficit, running the Shamrock Run 8k in March.
