The Cavs giving up 2 1st rounders for Mosgov was big overpayment. Now the Nuggets seem like they are looking for another sweetheart deal like that for all their role players. The Cavs were in a tailspin and desperate to get a center to stabilize things. They better come to their senses in the next 24 hours.
Taj Gibson, 26th pick Jimmy Butler 30th pick Tony Snell 20th pick Nikola Mirotic 23rd pick FWIW, I think draft picks are a useful way to add to your team.
#21 Nolan Smith #22 Elliot Williams #22 Victor Claver Not in PDX when you aren't drafting in the lottery.
The point is, we can climb into the late first/early second region of the draft fairly easily. The idea of getting a solid contributor on a cheap contract is enticing, but it should not get in the way of adding a final piece to our puzzle. Adding Chandler will put us one step closer to the WCF. I'll take that over the 26th pick in a fairly weak draft. (FWIW, I'm not considering TRob and Barton at all be cause they're both gone this summer)
it's not all that much to get a quality wing player who with his contract we can bring back next yr (Wes insurance) if we want or let go and it only costs us 2 mil
Okay, if we can trade our first rounder, barton, cash and t rob for Chandler and Prince?! That's a helluva deal!
Non-lotto first-rounders haven't been in our favor. The last decade: Segei Monia Joel Freeland (#30, finally showing signs of life) Victor Claver Elliot Williams Nolan Smith
Man Elliot Williams was a baller until that shoulder injury. The dude couldn't catch a break. (well maybe he actually did.../rimshot). But man he could jump. I wish he had never got injured. was fun to watch.
23. Wilson Chandler (2007) What's the Blazer history with him again? I remember the Knicks offered him to us cheap. What was the offer, or is there a link to back then?
Only slightly OT (Prince is the better player, IMO): http://sports.yahoo.com/news/source...arring-blockbuster-trade-offer-195235888.html NBA trade buzz: Clippers, Blazers eye Tayshaun Prince as potential buyout candidate
The rumored offer was Chandler for Rudy. Some here didn't like it (I loved it). For those that were opposed.... Hindsight is 20/20.
