The team was fresh off the death of a close member of the organization, and a pretty major trade that sent three guys out of town. Plus we were also coming off a long layoff. The team was flat and I can understand why.
And we were on the road. And Utah got insanely hot in the 4th quarter with no chance for us to recover.
I'll give them a break. But the patience is running thin. I still think they have lost maybe four or five more than maybe they should have to this point. Just do to the way they handle their business. I don't them or their relationship to Jerome but I would bet the attachment was less than you hit on. The trade is understandable. But they had two full days to digest it. Top with having a week and half off. They should have been ready to go.
You're right about the two days. LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard I believe knew a few days before hand if you listen to reports by Olshey. And I have to believe the whole team just based on heresy knew maybe weeks ahead. Besides. I did say I'd give him them a pass.
Good. You might want to give them a pass tomorrow too. We're playing a very good team and we are incorporating new players. Patience.
I don't think I'll have to. I think we will get a passionate, energetic performance out of them tomorrow night. Unless there is something deeply wrong with the club. I just don't think they will let Memphis beat them twice in their own home. Three straight times in the season series.
I would say the last Dallas game would have been the one to miss. That game still drives me nuts when I think about it. This game was just like "well shit, nothing was falling."
The Blazers tend to bounce back well from losses. Just compare our win streaks to our losing streak and it shows that the team has a lot of heart. We may lose a couple in a row going into the playoffs but it'll be worth it to get the new guys into the flow come post season. The West is insanely crowded record wise. We weren't the only good playoff team to lose last night.
Scoring 76 against the Jazz hurts me worse. Dallas is a really good team and Carlisle knows Stotts playbook pretty well
Knowing and not knowing a playbook doesnt excuse that meltdown. That was an ENTIRE team failure, from the coaches to the players. Whereas last night was just a shitty night. Every team has one of those.
i'd hit it, even if it is a computer image. I mean... umm... the loss doesn't bother me that much, now if they look flat and uninterested tomorrow i'll be pissed.
