Wes doesn't need nor has ever had superior athletic ability so he should be fine in that regard. My only concern is what this could do to his step back 3?
The threat was always there. Seems unlikely now knowing an achilles injury can be pretty serious and he won't even be ready for the start of the season. Plus he always has stated he wants to remain a Blazer and Paul Allen immediately went to the locker to check on him. He wants Wes here.
The nice thing is Wes is still young. He has that to his advantage. If he was older than his career would be pretty much over. Wes will battle through this.
Dude. I'm seriously depressed about this. As Terrell Owens so eloquently said: "That's my guy! That's my QB, man!"
I don't think we should bother signing anyone, because the playoff roster deadline was on the 1st. Meaning anyone we sign can only play in the regular season. Might as well get CJ/Crabbe ready for the playoffs over the next few weeks.
That doesn't sound right. Didn't Earl Barron play for us in the playoffs just weeks before they started?
I forgot all about Crabbe. It seems like Stotts doesn't allow him to sit on the bench. "Keep your ass back in the locker room, watch from there."
This has been such a shitty year for the Blazers injury wise. Everyones playing really banged up because it seemed like it could be a special year and suddenly the heart of the team gets hurt. You can damn well know Wes will be rooting the hardest from the bench but come playoff time we are going to miss him greatly.
Wes could be a role player though, stick him at the 3 pt line and he will be a threat, even if he loses some of his explosiveness.
That's how I feel right now man. I didn't even realize it, but Wes is our Jerome. I feel like we lost him.
