2006-07. They beat the Suns 4-2 in the second round in spite of not having HCA. I believe that is the only series they have won without HCA in their five championship seasons.

Exactly. And Amare got suspended a game in that series.

Yeah you are right. But Pop really doesn't have a choice with his 3 older players. Especially Duncan. Just too much mileage. But none the less their scenario is different from everyone else. They do have a lot of experience that they may get away with it. Similar to Houston with Clyde.

HCA helps and that's why the Blazers can't rest.

They should replace their bench with Craftmatic Adjustable Beds so they can nap during the games. Now that's what I call resting your players.

When Shaq was a Laker he used to sit out most of the regular season up to the allstar game with a "sore toe" then use the 2nd half of the season to get into game shape for the playoffs. It's not exclusive to the Spurs

Kind of ironic, but in 1999-2000, the year of the infamous Game 7 collapse and the first of 3 championships Shaq won with the Lakers, he played in 79 games and averaged 40.0 MPG. That's way more than any of our current players that supposedly need rest before the playoffs.

He also played an additional 23 playoff games that year. He led all players in playoff minutes (1000 = 43.5 MPG), scoring (30.7 PPG), rebounding (15.4 RPG) and won Finals MVP to go with his regular season MVP award. Seems like rest is overrated...

How 'bout we do this now? Actually, I think we are, as Aldridge is suddenly sitting out for what sounds like bogus reasons. But why not go whole hog? Play Gee, Frazier, Crabbe, Freeland and Leonard 48 minutes. (Okay, so Freeland would foul out in half that, but...)
I mean, it's not like we're going to CATCH anyone, and the only team that might catch us is Dallas, and we're VERY unlikely to meet in the playoffs.

True, but as far as I know their players haven't got a bunch of nagging injuries like, oh, Aldridge AND Batum AND Lopez.
Which reminds me, didn't Curry just have repeated ankle problems when he came into the league? What happened to that? He discovered tape?
