This team is going places. If we play Houston, were going to the 2nd round. If we play the Clippers, were going to listen to a lot of bitching from Doc, and probably get screwed so bad we're going to lose. If we play Memphis or SA, we're going fishing.
With the team losing our last regular season home game, the circumstance has not encouraged me at all. In the playoffs, if we win two in a row that would be a step one accomplishment in my book. . If they win the last two I would be momentarily impressed. Who is it out there with 5 minutes left in the game??
+> The Spurs become religious this time of the year. From fortitude to plain luck, they have survived. No Blazer home court advantage either. I hope no repeat of last year....
Of course things change and yes they can change again. RIGHT NOW (capitolized for KS) the Spurs sit in the 2nd seed. Memphis has dropped to 5th. But there is a 3-way tie record wise from all three teams Clippers, Rockets and Griz. This ain't over till it is over. http://stats.oregonlive.com/nba/standings_conference.asp
Fuck. No. The idea of a trade is for the team to get better, not worse. This would make us worse now, and a LOT worse in the future.
We are one of the bottom teams in the league on defense right now. It's painful. Arron makes nobody expendable.
Again, Arron would have been a terrific sixth man for us. He improved our defense, when we still had Wes. CJ's offense and fit within the offense is much better than Afflalo. Arron is the superior one-on-one defender and can play both backup wing positions. CJ can play both backup guard positions. Either can start while Wes is recovering. We need to keep all three for the time being, and unless a great trade presents itself this summer, evaluate our needs at the mid-season trade deadline.
Of those mentioned, I think the Griz will claw us, The Rockets could ignite as we beat them last year but we have a chance against the Clippers. SA will be a difficult match up for any Weastern Conference team.
+> The Grizz own us (damn it). SA is the "playoff" team. I think Houston hs revenge in its motivation. In my opinion, our best chance is against the Clippers.
Whatcha talking about. Most of the media says the Dubs are a lock to make it to the finals. Spurs are nobody.
He brings the heart to the team but I think guys like LA and to a certain extend Dame does a swell. LA shows heart each and every game. The consistency suggests it.
No, Melo is a lot of money and has been banged up a lot. If I were Olshey and thought about trading Batum I'd rather do a draft day trade of Batum to Boston, Bradley and their pick (16th currently) to Portland. Use the Pick for Dekker or package it and ours with another player for a Stanley Johnson or Mario Hezonja. I hope we re-sign Wes but I hope it's a one year prove it deal.
What about when we're not playing the Lakers or T-Wolves? Defense efficiency ranked 24th since Wes went down. Chris Paul and Steph Curry are great players, but 41/17 and 45 pts on 17/23? That shouldn't happen. But Trevor Booker going 36/9 should NEVER happened. Literally, because it never has. His previous career high was 26, and that was 4 years ago. Not saying "season over" but the defense has been troubling. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...survival-depends-on-damian-lillards-awakening
Do you want to argue just for the sake of arguing? Drexler was consistent every game as well. However, Jerome Kersey was the heart and soul of the team. Wesley Matthews is this team's Jerome Kersey.
Funny, I was just thinking that Gee reminds me of a mix between Wes and Kersey! Obviously without the pure talent of either.
