Seattle fans, how big a blow is losing your DC? And how do you see the off season playing out cap wise?
Sucks to lose DC Quinn, but he was going to get a job somewhere. Pete really runs the defense. Richard will do fine. Surprised we lost Norton, but good for him. I don't think anyone is too worried about losing the coaches right now. I think Richard will have some interesting 3rd down calls, since he knows the secondary so well.
Also, the cap is actually pretty well managed. Even taking care of RW3 and Bobby Wagner, there could be a lot of room if the Seahawks want to cut some expensive players and gamble on getting depth through the draft.
No on Maxwell. You can't pay all of your secondary that kind of money. They will sadly have to roll with Tharold Simon and Jeremy Lane, me thinks. Draft someone to compete. Possible cap casualties: Does Marshawn retire? Mebane (unless he restructures) and Zach Miller are most likely cuts. McDaniel's another possibility. Okung, you kind of wonder about. They didn't extend him last year, so who knows. I think they will keep Mebane unless they have their sights set on a particular FA. Obviously if Suh is a reality, then Mebane's probably gone. Jesse Williams is too hurt. He's gone. Who stays and who goes depends a lot on whether they want to add any FA's. But I think that Mebane (unless he restructures), Miller and Jesse Williams are all gone.
Maxwell is likely not coming back. When asked if he wanted to come back he uttered the dreadful "I have to think about my family". Which we all know means highest bidder wins and he's the most coveted FA CB on the market. Wagner will be re-signed. The rest of the LOB is already locked up. So are Avril and Bennett. If you really are interested in Seattle's capology, follow @DavisHsuSeattle on Twitter (he has an interesting breakdown on how Seattle can land Suh, who said his first choice is to play in Seattle this year). He's a fucking magician. Totally dialed in. I know the popular opinion is Seattle won't have enough cap space to remain great, but it's just not true. Losing Quinn sucks, but Richard is well respected and knows all the trade secrets of the LOB. I'm not worried. My biggest concern is Lynch retiring, honestly.
Nice info guys thanks. Not so much interested going forward, just was hearing the usual rumblings about cap casualties and whatnot and wanted the straight talk instead of the shock radio spin
You had him drop you off a block or two before your house and then waited for someone else to pick you up, but nobody ever came?
Or did he take you to within one yard of your house, but didn't carry you up to your doorstep? Only 10 days until the draft! I can't wait! Seriously, I'm having Football Withdrawl. "With the 15th Selection in the 2015 Draft, the 5-Time Superbowl Champion San Francisco 49ers select....Amari Cooper. Wide Receiver, University Of Alabama." Hey, don't rain on my dreams.
