I'd add a poll but don't know how in tapatalk.

Before the series I bet many here would pick Lillard. Now I'm curious what people think. We've seen Damian this ineffective against great defenders such as CP3 so it has me concerned if this will become the norm for him against higher intensity playoff defense.

I sadly vote for Conley and it's not even close.

I've always thought Lillard was an average POINT GUARD, but an excellent ball player with a killer instinct. Unfortunately he's now just an average PG.

Conley is the better PG. He has a role and an identity, Lillard has to be superman too much on this team especially without Wes and with Batum never being consistent specifically on the offensive side of the ball.

Looking back at my old Lillard for Conley idea, I never had an issue making a deal for Conley even if it cost a dynamic player like Lillard but the biggest issue with that trade was the inclusion of Matthews. He is this teams leader their grit, yes Conley and Tony Allen would have brought that but as this playoff series is showing you can't just replace what Wes provides.

Lillard is better. Just not showing it now.

Conley. Lillard can't D anyone up so he is a liability. While Lillard is better offensively, he sucks so bad on the defensive end that it doesn't matter. Plus he has become a streaky shooter.

I mean just look at their percentages when they play each other. Conley shoots 51% and I think like 47% from three against Dame. Dame shoots 41% and like 20-something percent from three against Conley. Conley is the answer.

Are they playing one on one? Lillard.
Are they playing with healthy teammates who can spread the floor and avoid double-teaming defensive schemes? Lillard.
Are they playing with one team not missing any pieces while the other is missing four rotation players and forced to play bench guys in the backcourt? Conley.

That's kind of an odd argument. This isn't some abstract philosophical debate - the better player is the guy who plays better - and that is Conley.

Nick Anderson outplayed Jordan in 1995 NBA Playoffs but Nick Anderson was never the better player.

Lillard is much better on O, they are both good passers with decent vision but nothing spectacular.
Conley is about a much better defender.
Conley is also older and at the peek of his career, Lillard hasnt hit his peek yet.
Id take Lillard and I dont think its that close.
Its amazing how many fans got used to Lillard just being apsolutely fantastic that when he has a slump people seem to freak out forget he is in his third year.

Conley is friends with Oden, Lillard is friends with some homeboys from Oakland.

Lillard. Conley isn't suffocating Dame on his own - the whole Memphis defense is planned around stopping Lillard.

Conley is perpetually underrated. Lillard is a little overrated. Let's call it a wash. But if Lillard continued to improve like Conley has, he'd end up better by the stage of his career that Conley is in.

Lillard is really being exposed as a one trick pony. Bottle him up on offense and he contributes nothing.
