I think we will have big changes regardless. We have gapping holes, plus Matthews is very uncertain. I think Olshey will address that this summer

A s&t would get him the 5th year, right?

If he wants out I hope NY (or LA) land a top-3 pick.

    Karl.

    Anthony.

    Towns.

I said best all around shooting PF. Who is better when you take into consideration that he is the main focus for every team who plays us.

You said Leonard was a better shooter and my point is Leonard and others are very good shooters when they are wide open. But what happens when other team's game plan are designed to stop them? If LA is just standing there shooting wide open jumpers because he is the 4th option, I am sure his stats would be much different.

Brian and I were absolutely roasted for suggesting that it would be smart to trade Aldridge when we had all the leverage. Now suddenly everyone is worried he'll leave. Funny how that works. I wonder if we could have had Andrew Wiggins right now.

    Random thoughts on the topic...
    • Along with the teams who could offer him a max deal, I wonder if Washington wouldn't seriously consider pursuing LA? Seems like he'd be another big chip in their courtship of Durant and holy hell if Wall, KD and LMA wouldn't be an interesting core in the east. We could certainly do worse than getting Beal/Porter/Gortat back in a deal for him...

    • On a related note (whether LA leaves or not), I wouldn't mind going after Kevin Seraphin or Tobias Harris in free agency. Seraphin has never really turned into what a lot of people thought he would, but he's still only 25 and with the lack of PT he's gotten on the Wizard's bench, should come fairly cheaply. Harris looked great early in his career but has since tapered off, possibly due to the Magic's offense being very guard-oriented now -- I think in the right system, Harris could become close to what LA is today... Others in this category I'd hope we'd at least take a look at:
      • Bizmack Biyombo (R)
      • Ekpe Udoh
      • Ed Davis
      • Alexis Ajinca
      • Cole Aldrich
      • Brandan Wright
      • Derrick Williams
      • Amir Johnson
None would completely replace LA, but - ideally - could be had for reasonably cheap, are all still young (or fairly young) and either replace certain components of his game or add elements that he doesn't provide now...

I think Aldridge would be even better if a more consistent shooting team was built around him. When we had our 38 win run, our shooters were shooting so well. Aldridge's efficiency had a huge boost. When the shooters are playing like shit, Aldridge has to force too many shots.

This is supposed to be a good shooting team.

    Dame
    Wes
    Wright
    AA
    CJ
    Batum

They were all supposed to be decent shooters.

There was a time when they all were good. This season was crazy because
1.) Batum has been completely inconsistent and Dame's outside shot took a huge decline. If those two players had something similar to last season, things would have been totally different.
2.) CJ needed almost 3/4 of the season to find his confidence. I actually think he's starting to become a good shooter now.
3.) Wright definitely started become that shooter we wanted, but then he got injured.
4.) AA hasn't been on the team long enough to know if he is still a good shooter.
5.) Wes was a great shooter. He got injured

I wonder if Dame's problem is mental or if his fingers have screwed up his shooting. He took a real dive after he hurt his fingers, and I think he started to slash more often.

I actually think it's very mental because he is deadly on the shoot arounds. He never misses, so his technic is still very good. I think during the game, he is seriously rushing or overthinking his shot.

Well, unfortunately there's nothing you can do about a confidence problem. He just has to play through it.

His shot is almost always long from 3 now, maybe another step back from 3 would help.

Did you notice that he was taking them farther back last game? I think he and the coaching staff saw what you saw

    What's the problem here?
I'm not particularly worried about him leaving (I guess I'm part of "everyone").
And you guys were dumb-asses for suggesting he be traded and deserved the roasting you received. ;)
