I'm not defending Batum, I'm looking for alternatives and ideas. I'm having a hard time trying to find a similar player. Considering that a lot of you think Batum is way overpaid I'm having a really hard time trying to find a similar player that makes less money.

I'm asking about stats because some of you are great at breaking things down. If you can show that we would be the same or better with a rebounding only sf or a scoring only...

The only other alternative I'm coming up with is if the development of Meyers, can he had assists to his game? I 3pt shooting, 5 assist per game center would be a great weapon and we wouldn't need Batum anymore.

I'm not sure there is a similar player to Batum and I hate that word " Potential " so I won't use it. You just have to ask yourself if your OK with paying a player with great skills 10+ mill and doesn't bring it every night.

No, lot of the reasons I disliked Sheed are some of the reasons Nic is wearing on me.

I just don't think it matters to him and this hurts the team. And THAT doesn't matter to him. I've seen enough. Even if he is destined for a great year due to it being a contract year...

    I'VE SEEN ENOUGH.

He shot 34% from the field in the playoffs and barely 40% in the regular season. I'd rather have a player with 11 ppg but efficient. It wasn't all Batum's fault but its meaningless to say you want a SF with X per game stats regardless of how he gets it.

Batum had a bad season and postseason but if he can return to his career averages he will be fine.

A big reason for that was because he couldn't shoot worth crap and passed the ball when most players would have easy scoring opportunities. I want him to make the play that most often leads to Blazer points regardless if he gets the assist or bucket.

Middleton would be the target but even at a max salary Milwauke probably ends up matching.

I will tell you what, people that bitch about Batum would fucking hate DeRozan in no time if he was on our team.

Kind of a grass is greener crowd around here. Often without even looking over the fence.

Is it too much to ask that someone, who makes 250 times most peoples salary, to show at least a little bit of interest, and to expel just an ounce of effort on a regular basis?

Batum certainly doesn't look worth $230,000 a week to me!!

Despite, perhaps, a small drop off, I'm ready for a small forward who's at least willing to come prepared to work everyday.

It makes you wonder how many of these dudes have watched good basketball before. The expectations from some of them are pretty minimal.

I will say this that I think Clyde's Blazers have ruined the game for me. The game just can't equate to what it once was.

I want somewhere between 10-24 pts, 2-9 assists and 4-9 rebounds.

Its a flawed question so it'll never have a good answer. Those three stats by themselves are somewhat meaningless. It critical how efficiently those stats are produced. I want to know how the teams total offensive efficiency is correlated. A player could be a top5 SF with stats anywhere in that broad range it depends how they play off the other players, their defensive contributions. As many downsides as PER has its a vastly better metric than what your asking.

I don't understand why Batum doesn't give me a mani/pedi every saturday. He's certainly paid enough. Is it a coincidence that Sheed never did either? Or are both of them selfish French bastards?

    Gauranteed contracts.
Once it's signed, then some players are playing to 'not get injured' - so they can reap that next contract on the horizon. It means they don't go all out, and are not as competitive. It's more akin to a 'millionaires club' shoot-around.

Todays NBA pales in comparison to the late 80's - 90's.
