The two goals are seemingly what you need to beat Holtby right now. Quick shots behind screens.

The pathetic, offensive incompetence of this team continues to amaze me. This game was all the evidence you need that Nash is useless in the playoffs and needs to be sent out of town in the off-season.

Capitals without a doubt do not want to come back here... With that said home teams usually win game 6. If they can find. Way to win somehow I really think they'll win the series

Struds, there is no IF. We are going down there, winning game 6 and wrapping this series up and moving on on wednesday. UFN!

I'm not going to make any predictions. All I will say is I believe the Caps will play this as their game 7, and that crowd will be crazy. We need to play our best game of the series to get out of there with a win. The Caps know it and we know it, if we can get game 6 we'll have a big edge in game 7 back at MSG with all the MO and the home ice. The winner of game 6 will win this series, and that's why the Caps will play their best game. We need to withstand the first 7-10 minutes and keep things worst case even. If we do then we'll be in a good spot to make it a coin flip game, as every game in the series has been pretty much.

I would expect us to play well, but I also expect the Caps to play really well in their game 7. Not going to be easy for us to win down there, but I said going into game 5 just give us the chance to get a game 6 and let the chips fall where they may, and that's how I feel. The Caps could come out tight, that is possible as well, so go down there, get off to a worst case even start, settle into the game, and then we'll see who wins another close game if that happens. Just like the Caps had to withstand our crazy start last night, I think we'll have to withstand their start in game 6. And the Caps kept it even despite being dominated, and it was a coin flip game. I think game 6 will be the same but reversed. We withstand the start and then it will be a coin flip game.

We'll see how it goes. I just wanted to see this game and have the Caps face the pressure of needing to close it out at home or go back to MSG for a crazy hard game for them to win in game 7. Game 6 is their game 7 just like it was for us against Montreal last season.

Would like to think the Rangers will not go 0-3 in Washington.

Like you said Chuck, handle the first 10 minutes and then things will settle down. It would be HUGE for us to get a quick, early goal to take the crowd out quick and make them play tighter.

I'm on board... Hopefully everything they shot can go in... I know that is contrary to every game so far this postseason

Few things. Caps have blown more 3-1 leads in series than anybody in NHL history. Two, the pressure they will be under is immense. Three, Holtby is not a great goalie. He's good and he's due for stinker.

On the other hand, what is the odds you hold Backstrom and Ovechkin down for another 2 games?

You are absolutely right about Caps and Holtby Dump.

Also for all the offensive incompetence on this team in the playoffs past couple years they do know how to win these low scoring games. I think Lundqvist is the difference tomorrow. I also hope they found something w Holtby on these drop pass 1 timers for the last 2 goals.

Caps are fukkkkked if they come back to MSG and they know it.

Like I said last night, the pressure tomorrow is on the Caps for sure IMO. Will they be able to handle it, we'll see, but no doubt it will be there as they know they don't want to face a game 7.

The longer the game stays scoreless the better for us. If we can score the 1st goal that would put even extra pressure on the Caps. The start is going to be very interesting to watch. I would love to get out of the first 10 minutes even, and if we can score the 1st goal it will get tighter for the Caps.

I think OV will play well tomorrow. He hasn't been a force the past 3 games, and you have to figure he will work hard to change that in game 6. So I expect him to make some plays in the game. Who knows if he'll score, but we'll know he's out there...LOL.

As for Holtby, he is not elite, but he is a very good goalie. I would be surprised if he throws a stinker in there. That doesn't mean we can't/won't score some goals in game 6, but I don't expect Holtby to be the reason the Caps lose if we win game 6.

14 goals between both teams in five games. There just hasn't been much offense and the Rangers defense has done a good job on Washington's top line.

If you said to me pick one guy to look at after the game tonight and say which team won based off of his stats, non-goalie, I would say OV. He concerns me. This game is so big for him. He can blow this game up. I wouldn't say that about any other skater in the NHL right now outside of OV. We cannot allow him to blow this game up.

If we lose tonight I 100% believe we'll be saying OV was great and went back to that level he was on in games 1 & 2 as the best player in the world on speed. We cannot allow him to do that.

On the flip side, if he doesn't do much again like the last 3 games I think we'll win tonight. I am hopeful that we found a little something, and got our confidence back/got the frustration out late in the 3rd/in OT in game 5. So if we hold OV down again I think we'll be in great shape.

We need to stay on him and not allow him to blow this game up. He concerns me tonight in what is a huge game for the Caps, but just as huge for OV the player. He needs to get over the hump, and he knows it, so he will come ready tonight. We cannot allow him to take over.

Girard and staal has as much to do with ovie than anyone else the past couple of games. He may not be on the scoresheet but ovie still has done much more than Nash. When ovie gets the puck the world comes to a stop and you hold your breathe as ovie can actually score from outside the circle. Need to make sure that freight train does not get a head of steam.

Agreed. We cannot let OV take over this game tonight. That is my one fear going in. If you told me it will be games 3, 4, and 5 OV I think we have a great shot to win. If you told me it will be games 1 and 2 OV I think we are in trouble. We have to keep him down if we want to play a game 7.

On the flipside, boy would it be nice for Nash to show up tonight and get a goal...or maybe two. He didn't have much of an impact on game 5 IMO.

When Nash is on the ice, you better believe the Caps take notice and are doing all that they can to take him out of the game. Can he do more? Of course. In fact, he needs to. But to say he's not making an impact is just plain wrong. It's frustrating, but it's frustrating from a team stand point. They are getting good chances, just need to finish more of them. If they win tonight, and Nash doesn't score, I'm cool with it.

Agree to disagree on game 5 jam. I do believe that despite not scoring he has had an impact during most games, I do not believe game 5 was one of those games. I don't think he played well in game 5.

In other games where he hasn't scored he was noticeable and still had an impact, but we are passed the point where there is enough. He needs to actually score some goals. 8 straight games with no goal. His high this season is 9 straight. And I'd argue his one playoff goal was so meaningless that he has gone 10 playoff games without a goal. Simply not good enough whether he is playing well on D and the PK or not.

Let's see if he steps up tonight. Wouldn't bet on it based on his playoff history...but hopefully he does.
