Aldridge also has a condo in Miami, FL. I guess he's going to Miami too?

Two years ago when Quick wrote his story about LA requesting to be traded he had moved all his stuff out of his location then. He was only here two years after that fact. It means nothing, maybe he is fixing to purchase a larger home in the Portland area after he signs his extension.

Or something smaller since he lives mainly in Los Angeles when the season ends? Whatever the case, it really doesn't matter if he moves out. Hell, Andre Miller stayed at the Marriot Courtyard the entire time he played for Portland.

Yeah, it means zero. I know for a fact that a couple of years ago he met with a surveyor that I work with to discuss some issues regarding an acreage property in Clackamas County. At that time, he was thinking of building a place where he'd have more privacy. Don't know if he bought the property or not, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if he decided to sell his current place and will buy something more private once (if) a new deal is done.

The closer we get to free agency the more uncertain I think he leaves...

Blazers can offer him the most money. If he leaves, it would be because there is something he values more than money.

Under different circumstances, that would be admirable.

This wouldn't surprise me. Money aside, and no mistaken it's a big difference. He is adored big time by the the organization and fans and I think that along with the idea that this owner and organization are a first class org who is committed to winning...

In all honesty why should he leave? Come back and do what you said you were going to do 10 months ago. So in the end we can go on and retire #12...

    For good.

This is the real reason he will leave for Los Angeles..his secret love Penny Marshall, also a Clippers fan..now this is a rumor you can sink your teeth into. Just remember that Riverman broke the news and you read it here first

I don't think that the money differential will ever mean less to free agents than it does this year given the huge jump in the cap in 2016. The most money over the next five years would probably result from taking a 2 year deal with the second year a player option and then going for an even bigger deal under the new salary cap. Obviously, there's the question of security in the event of injury that has to be taken into account, but simply looking at the dollars doesn't tell the whole tale.

Now Taylor Danforth on 620 is claiming that he has "a source" who confirms that Aldridge has disconnected "a service" in town. No more information than that (otherwise he'd be giving up his source).

I guess from that we're supposed to determine that he's cutting off his utilities and therefore leaving. :dunno:

Hoopshype (Memphis article) compared LMA to Gasol in how they're handling FA -- "LaMarcus has told higher
ups that he may sign elsewhere while Gasol hasn't hinted in any way."

I know I am nit picking but that is a little different from the wording I read which said:

"Unlike Aldridge, who, according to league sources, hasn't been afraid to share the occasional whisper with a few well-placed folks about the prospect of leaving Portland"

I was going off the top of my head. It was close. This isn't the first time hearing about that.

It may be a small difference but it is also significant. In your scenario he basically told Neil, while the quotes I have read.......he has not.
One leaves a little more hope that he returns. Regardless he could change his mind either way once he starts talking to other teams.

Duncan says he is coming back for his 19th year next season (in addition to Parker, Manu an Pop). Scratch LMA off realistically going to SAS? I think if Aldridge leaves it has to be by sign and trade. I don't see him signing with the only two teams that can do it outright (LAL and NY).

The more and more I think about this the more I am convinced that LMA is staying with us for at least 1 year. He is going to sign a 2-4 year deal with an opt-out after the first year. So we have to go through this all again next summer and he might leave for real then but he isn't leaving this summer imo.

I have been thinking the same thing. It makes most sense for him. He gets a guaranteed contract in case he gets hurt, he can opt out and get a bigger contract when the cap goes up, and he gets to evaluate the Blazer's realistic chance of winning a championship.

A no lose situation for LMA. And although not ideal for Portland, it could give them a chance to get value for him at the trade deadline. LMA wouldn't care if he was traded because he would have the opt out.
