"After taking in $100,000 in loans and 4 years of college, young Jed applies for an office job against 200 other candidates. Meanwhile, Jed's high school age brother makes the same wage....cooking Pizza at Sbarro's after school." :MARIS61:
Come and listen to my story 'Bout a man named Jed A poor college grad, Barely kept his family fed. And then one day He was shootin' up some meth, And out through his mouth came curses against Seth. His kin that is... high school... pizza cook. Well the first thing you know Ol' Jed's gettin' welfare, Kinfolk said "Jed move away from there". Said "California's not the place you outta be". So they stole a pickup truck And they moved from Beverly. Hills that is, dried up pools, biker bars. barfo
Employeers are hasseled with outrageous medical coverage (fueled by horse manure lawyers) , FICA, UC-27, WR-3o,941 Quarterlies ( passed without taxation representation) plus protection to Vinnie the pinch,Uniform fire code registration, zoning departments, exorbetent taxes, litigation lawyers and lastly employee stupidity. Thats why I no longer own my own business.. If the entire tax system was based on product rather than employee wages people could make 20 or more an hour. Honestly we don't need another aircraft carrier, a new jet fighter, other ridiculous weapon systems or have to be the world cop with exotic overpriced weapons and pay offs to subversives. Foriegn Aid SUCKS. We lost our brothers and sisters, many became cripples and get shit on by our own back at home.!! I'll bet if we only had 4 nukes and all the other money was spent on infrastructure for 65 years plus a manufacturing zone like China at the Mexican border from 1975 then all that money could be given back to the tax base. We could effectively match the French month long holiday in August, take Spanish lunches and not give a shit about the morons who run this pile of government stench much like the Greeks. Sorry ......I got carried away and day dream about Utopia. Remember....nothing is done for the individual business owner and the self centered clueless ones made the taxes that hinder succeess.
I'd go work at Burger King right now If I could get paid 15 bucks an hour. Down here I'd be living large.
There is definitely a huge issue with the wages in this country. People are going into debt for 50-100k in college and making 16 an hour. I'm surrounded by college grads at my job. I'm almost done with my education. It's ridiculous.
That's partly to blame for some of the students too though. Get a degree that means something. A woman's studies degree is virtually useless in the marketplace. Engineering, accounting, nursing, those are all college career paths that provide jobs at the end of the rainbow
I made $15 an hour in college and in the summer at various jobs and that was in the late 90s. Some were shit jobs though. But I also spent a few summers making like $7 an hour working in fast food.
For mixtape enthusiasts they can go to trade schools. It's only a year of school to become a dental assistant or medical assistant
So if you're not good at math, you're screwed? That nurse thing won't pan out forever. There are a TON of people trying to go into medicine and guess what, they can't all make a bunch of money. The market will become over saturated and the wages will start to go down. Just like everything else. And that's just a very broad statement in general. My fiancee got a business degree. She is in logistics and there are a lot of jobs available in logistics. She works for a tech firm making 50k a year. So she went to school for four years to make the same amount of money that my dad made in the 1980's. You don't see a problem with that?
Not just those degrees. But applicable ones to an actual career. Too many people take bullshit liberal studies or pre whatever degrees without continuing on that path and. Bitch about how a college degree sucks. I already mentioned, there are tons of trade schools available for one year that make decent money if people stopped being lazy. $50k per year is great wage starting out of school. I made less than that after graduating, own a house, have good cars and my wife only has like 5k in debt from her becoming a dental assistant (one year of school). And I also help my parents out every month with their mortgage.
Btw props to your pops for making that. The median household income was around $16,000/year in the US in 1980. So he must have been rocking it. It's around $50k today
Medical assistants make $15 an hour or so. Same with scrub techs, maybe some make $20 an hour. Not sure about dental assistants. Secretaries too. Who wants to have to use Microsoft Word? Why bother with going to school and have responsibilities and a schedule when you can just hop from job to job in retail and fast food whenever you like? No education required, no training required, you don't need to be dependable.
But he makes the best pizza of all the Sbarros ever tested and he can take some home to his well enhanced chic.
If I could I would be a shrink. You always ask how someone feels, put them in an uncomfortable situation, probe their anxiety and then collect $180. So if I needed a 100K student loan, messing (*******) up somebodys head would be intriguing.
