...didn't know some of these records even existed...good stuff; http://fansided.com/2015/05/21/27-mlb-records-will-never-be-broken/2/
Pretty good group of accomplishments. One "record" I believe not listed should be the Chicago Cubs 116 game winning season. I know the Mariners equaled that but to be truly an accomplishment a modern team would have to win 123 games to equal that percentage.
Good read. I don't pay much attention to, or compare players from the 19th century through the dead ball era to the modern/post deadball/ and post WW2 players but I do recognize and respect their accomplishments amoung their peers. Looks as if most of those records will be unapproachable. Just about all of the other "modern" records and accomplishments will probably not be broken.....but it IS humanely possible to hit in 57 straight games or pitch 8 career no-hitters....and possibly a couple more of those records aren't IMPOSSIBLE to reach. There are three other records/accomplishments which are going to be difficult to reach.....all by pitchers...in fact, one of them absolutely cannot be surpassed. Darrell Knowles pitched in all 7 games of a World Series....kinda tough to surpass. lol Mel Stottlemyer (P) had 5 hits in 5 ABs in a game. 5-5 ! Incidently, he once hit an inside the park grand slam. Tony Cloninger (Braves' P) hit two grand slams in one game and had 9 RBI.
pretty sure Tatis and Gagne records are "enhanced", and well Bonds walked because of the enhancement.
It kind of surpises me, the records of Satchell Paige, as a whole, or individually. How old he was age 42 when He signed with the MLB, until He was 47. Or Josh Gibson; a legend with less than 2, 500 At Bats in 16 yrs. with the NLB, ..... one easy mistake some make with NLB, (black baseball); forget how few games each NLB Team played per year. How few games Pitchers had with IP, while Hitters, had with At Bats....... Why would Clemente's Putout Assist not be considered either???? None will ever come closer than Ichiro did/ or will......Ted Williams .400 B'Avg, versus Joltin Joe's 56 game Hitting Streak, to steal the MVP from the last man to hit .400......
Did you some of those protesters through bricks and rocks and bottles in Baltimore? We need another NLB because otherwise they were just auditioning for the NBA.
