Beltran's arrow has been pointing upward recently. I would give Drew the next week or two and if he continues this pace without showing a marked improvent in any couple offensive numbers..BA/OBP/HR -RBI....I put Pirela on 2b until (if) HE plays himself out of the job....then maybe by then, the Yanks will have enough trust in Refsnyder's defense. McCann, Headley and Gregorious - obviously we need at least one or two to show good improvement as the season goes on....Gregorious (imo) "only" needs to get his BA close to .230 or so to justify him being the EVERYDAY SS. We do need at least one of Headley or McCann showing improvement in their all-around batting. I don't believe we're going to need, or have a lineup loaded from top to bottom with guys who have fancy BAs/OPS. If the pitching begins to sink, - the Yanks are in deep doo-doo. The team - imo- WILL score enough runs to the point where the pitching staff staying at least near the top 3rd in the league will suffice.
The good games he does have are quickly becoming few & far between. He a 5th starter at best on any team.
when i speak of girardi, it's not because i think he is a bad coach. i know all too well what it is like to sit behind a player who is underperforming, who is killing any chance for the team to get to next level, any level for that matter, to show what i had, to help the team. it sucks to sit there nite after nite and see this because of money invested in a player, its not girardi's fault a player ain't getting it done, but , there will be a fall guy, and it usually is the coach.. he'd get hired in a second somewhere else. there needs to be a change, we have seen too much of this for far too long as yankee fans
So how many 5th starters do these Yankees have?...... as they fall in the AL East standings. At this rate, it's going to be a long summer in the Bronx.
I disagree, drew was a cornerstone of Cashman's plan. I don't think his playing time is negotiable...yet.
wasn't bud black's fault either, but he gets cannned cause the org feels team is underperforming with top of the line players.... sound familiar?
He could possibly lose his job if they miss the playoffs again but I would like to know who you think are top of the line players. Your instance on using that line is moronic when you look at this roster.
^^^ wait, you said that "everything" that happens on the field is the responsibility of the manager...well, is it or isn't it?...make up your mind.
In closing no it doesn't sound familar because if you think guys like Drew, Didi and Ryan to name a few are top of the line players. There's really no reason to discuss anything.
