Aside from renouncing all their free agents which they prob won't do, their wallet is empty.

    This year anyways.

Yeah, and if they have to rebuild it means they either renounced those players rights, or traded them. So, the wallet isn't empty. It would be empty if they had all these guys signed to anchor contracts and THEN wanted to rebuild.

If he isn't bullshitting, then LA leaving pretty much is gonna go down. If Batum gets dealt draft night we will know for sure in all likelihood.

This is why you should never fall in love with players! Fall in love with the team but not the players.

Well I think it's more the prospect of rebuilding a year and a half after we came onto the scene because our best player playing us out, and leeching because we got ruined by injuries. Thing is, if LA leaves, they all leave. He will destroy this franchise for the next 5 years if he leaves and he doesnt care. I think that's why everyones bitter

5 years? Come on... With the massive amount of cap space we'd have without wes, Batum, LA and Rolo we could afford to bring in some real studs.

I think that's why Neil is noncommittal to Wes.

This injury is career altering. He is pushing 30 and was an average athlete before the injury.

And he still wants a near max deal.

    No thanks.

They still have no money to try and retool this year. Do you think big time free agents are going to wait around on Portlands free agents to make a decision?

If they leave, an rebuild is pretty much inevitable. The players have this organization held hostage because this General Manager won't renounce them. He's banking the extra money will lock them in.

Its not so much the player that's the concern, but the team (Lakers).

1 or 2, but why would they come here? We have no picks to fill out the roster and only draftees work for chump change.

    I'll name some:

    Millsap
    Monroe
    Middleton
    Carroll
    Danny Green
    Asik
    Koufus
    Aminu
    Watson

Those aren't exactly marquee names but they're good players.

Or Hell, let's say we trade LA to SA for Splitter, Green and draft picks ('16+'18) and Batum and Kaman's contract to LA for Randle and 34. Draft Looney and Upshaw then sign Watson+Aminu. Re-sign Freeland and Wright.

    Lillard / Watson / Blake
    Green / CJ / Crabbe
    Aminu / Looney / Wright
    Leonard / Randle
    Splitter / Freeland / Upshaw

That team could make the playoffs.

That team is terrible and wouldnt make the playoffs in the west.
