I think Wes is just being wined and dined and will take the appearance money and bank it. He may very well sign elsewhere. I hope he stays but after Oden, Roy, I'm not sure the organization is anxious to gamble on comeback players anytime soon. Somebody will probably throw ridicuous amounts of money at him that we probably won't want to take on.

I meant compared to your average NBA player. He scores the majority of his points off 3s and postups. Plus lateral quickness (what is just needed for defense) doesn't really use your Achilles. And the fact you compared his athleticism to Vince Carters is hilarious. I've never seen Wesley jump over a center...

Millsap won't leave ATL, Monroe is overrated. The rest of those guys are role payers. That's my point. You can't lose 2 of your top 3 guys and make it back to the playoffs anytime soon by signing a couple role players. The biggest FA we ever get is Mo Williams, Andre Miller, Chris Kaman types.

Wook, try to look through your rosy glasses ya got on and tell me how that isn't realistic. That's exactly how its going to be if they leave

I think Millsap is a little over rated as well. Monroe would help, but isn't NY making him their Number 1 priority? I am thinking by the time LMA decides we will be late to that party.

If Wes doesn't come back then get as much as you can in a LMA S&T. Use next season to further CJ's and Leonard's development - I think that means keeping Kaman for another season. Trade Nic at the deadline (his value will be higher then than it is now). Preserve cap space for next summer - isn't that when some really great players will be available?

This notion is just silly IMHO. Look at our guard Frazier. He is pretty young so is Wes. Frazier had an Achilles injury in college. He is as quick as a hiccup. Most people we've seen with this injury have been older. Frazier proves that when you're young you can come back from it. I still have hope.

I think this scenario might happen IF LMA leaves. It gives them a year to assess a few things before diving into free agency.

I wonder how management values Crabbe. In his 3rd year could he start and bring CJ off the bench? Or can we get a big defensive minded PG (i.e Delon Wright) that would allow us to have a 3 guard line with Dame and CJ.

Can Leonard be our starting PF of the future? The key to that answer is who joins him in the front court. Either the center or sf would have to be adept at attacking the basket while Meyers spreads the floor with the two guards.

As for Nic.......the draft will be over so we can't use him for that. But maybe we try Toronto for Ross and #20? Grab Wright and a SF. Or take a chance on Upshaw. I think we get more value in the summer than at the trade deadline as it will give the team a whole season to win him over in order to re-sign him.

Frazier was 22 when his Achilles ruptured and he took a full year off. Wes is going to be 29 and likely is gonna try to come back early. With the way Wes defends, he may never be the same.

Finally watched the video (3x). It seems he says "Ya Know," not No. After all he has spent allot of time with LMA.

Also I failed to hear where he says he doesn't expect to be back in Portland. I did hear him say "Our Team," however.

If Meyers is starting I think he'd pair well with Cousins (pipe dream) or Monroe. If it's Meyers/Rolo then we would really need a basket-attacking SF - there just aren't any that I like outside of LBJ and Durant. Which ties into my comment about NEXT summer's FAs: let's just sign Durant and Davis!

    Lillard
    Who Cares!
    Durant
    Davis
    Meyers

I hope he comes back and plays well, but I just don't want our team to bend over backwards and give him a lot of money or years.

A Monroe/Meyers front court would work well ......on offense. Not so much the rest of the game.

Meyers defense looked great on the All nba 1st team center.

The way Wes defends is why i'm not that worried about his Achillies. He doesn't use his Athleticism to defend he uses his strength. Wes gets in your mug and is great at fighting through a screen, he isn't making come from behind blocks or chasing his man down. Wes defense is the epitome of defense by will and hustle.
